My husband passed onto his heavenly reward early Christmas morning 2020, he was 73 and I turned 70. Our kids are adults, as are the grands. We had a good 15 years together. The sun does still come up in the morning, but this time of year, I question why sometimes. I tell myself it's a reminder that in spite of everything, I am and continue to be blessed. To anyone out there experiencing that deep soul ache that threatens to drown you, with each new day remember that it's not how many times you stumble or fall but how many times you get back up. Blessings to you all❤
That was beautiful what you wrote really inspired me God bless you I'm sorry for your loss I lost my only child when she was 8 to leukemia on December 6th a big part of me passed on with her I believe she earned her angel wings early in life Christmas time is always harder and I thank God for the 8 years he gave me the most wonderful child anyone could wish for I know she's in the arms of Jesus now 💔🙏.
Because he's too much like the stereotype the new country music doesn't want. Looks and sounds a little too much un-woke. He's good and the song is too.
I feel like these days a good artist is better off building their own following through social media. So many are doing well on their own and working with other independent artists. That way you own your own stuff, and don't have too many hands in the pot.
In reality, a record deal with a label is a couple grand advance, and a few tens-to-a-hundred thousand loan for the record and promotions, it is creativity by other songwrighters and session musicians instead of you, it is support tour booked for you on your family bdays, and you see profit only after huge number of sales, and a guarantee to burnout. most new artists first albums never make it out of that zone. Label makes money from the day 1 tho cuz they make a share of all spotify plays, every keychain and tshirt sold. So best is being your own label.
Nashville should be beating down your door. You just put ❤back into country music. Plain and simple, storytelling with music. Don’t let anyone stop you, you have WHAT IT TAKES.🎉
Lost my son December 2022. This song strikes personal. May everyone give your life to Christ and live eternity with him along with family and friends who have a relationship with him. God bless you.
What an excellent job. I'm an old man and in 1984 after my training I was put on 2nd shift. One late afternoon in our shop after the first shift and upper management had gone home, and I completed my rounds I went back to the shop. The radio was blasting country music. a big black man (Named John Lott) was doing some work on the lathe, and I reached to change the channel. He said, boy, what are you doing. I replied, I was changing the channel. His response was why? I thought it was still on the station left over from 1st shift. I said, its country music, you don't listen to country, do you? He says, are you stereo typing me boy? I replied no, but he said, yes you are! My reply was, I didn't know it if I was. He had me have lunch in his car and he listened to many genres, and a large volume was country. He taught me that black people have been a large party of country from its grass roots. RIP my old friend John Lott. He was a Ranger in Vietnam, he never was one to cry about it, he said, that happened over there, I left it over there. He taught me Country music doesn't have a color; it has a feeling, and it talks to one's soul in a way. My mother always said Charlie Pride was one of her favorites and put on great show. People that associate color, race. Hicksville, rednecks, and backwoods to Country, don't the half of it. Keep doing what you're doing Marquis Evans. Excellent!!!
The only person in this entire chat that raised colour in country music is yourself. And assuming a man doesn’t listen to country because he is black without even having the courtesy to ask shows you were ignorant of others. Music in its entirety has zero relevance to a persons colour or upbringing. It’s what we connect too.
Didn't you folks read everything he wrote. Yes, he was stereotyping but with the help of the man who became his friend, he was able to change. What he was communicating is a confession of sorts. His heart and mind was open enough to change. Is yours open enough to accept his change, or is your heart so hardened and your mind so closed that you can not accept the journey of another. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Such a beautiful voice! Such amazing lyrics. Thank you for sharing, Xx My Mum died 4 yrs ago and it would have been her 90th birthday today, missing her so much but I'll be okay....
It reminds me a lot of when my Mom died. My father had just gotten out of the hospital and I thought it was him that passed. He went down to the next town to get stamps for her and came home and found her...on his birthday! It's been 40 years now but seems like yesterday sometimes.
I lost my mom last year and still miss her dearly, but I have so many great memories of her that she will never be forgotten, and those memories keep me smiling everyday! 🙏🏻
I'm a 63 1/2 year old, Grandma 5'8 125 lb, strong , until I heard this song, I can't stop listening, I think I needed to cleanse my soul and forgive myself .
Do you also know that most of the singers don't play a guitar.. they just sing with the band in the back ground also when recording there's only back ground music playing on a recording. So he's awesome
george jones was one of the most popular country singers. when new country came out radio stations were told not to play george jones songs. to give new “artists” a chance. that’s more devious than affirmative action. that’s what this fine singer isn’t promoted! he’s too good!
Your voice gave me goosebumps. I love the way you play and sing. As an old guy at 70 this song resonates with me. You are a chart topper ! Keep doing what you do my young friend. I also really like your guitar picking style. Been playing and listening to it all my life. Excellent vid !
I’m so sorry. I lost my husband in 2019 and my two year old daughter in 1987. I can’t count the loved ones I’ve lost in between those dates and after. I lost my niece to COVID too. Death is called an enemy. (1 Corinthians 15:26).I have known this enemy and the great sorrow it brings many times over. Here’s what I remember to gain some comfort. Mark 5:39; 1 Thessalonians 4:13; John 11:11; Acts 24:15. Revelation 21:4 I pray and believe your son’s “sleep in death” will be fairly brief and he will be returned to you in the near future. Both of you can have more tomorrows together. Hope this helps you as much as it does me. I would hug you if I could and I would say, “ I know, and I understand. Someday, all our tears will be wiped away and we will know only happiness.
Marquis, I have just listened to the end, I really don't know what to say, I'm a music loving 63 year old, you got me, tears and all, from my heart, thank you.
Wow, his ancestors couldn't possibly be more proud 🙏 he represents the beauty and capability of the youth they prayed and faught for.. I wish more of our youth could and would focus and thrive ..
This artist is unbelievable...color shouldn't matter least of all in music...and real country music is timeless, pure that tells a story of the good ol days gone by or genuine love you have in your heart...you cannot beat it I love it...I was brought up loving rock and metal, but my step-father got me hooked on this music...my gf calls me redneck Filipino, but you can't deny the way a good country song makes you feel and reminds you of how things were...this artist with this song touched all them emotions...great performance...hope to see more of him

Why in the world is this man not on the country charts?
Because he's too much like the stereotype the new country music doesn't want. Looks and sounds a little too much un-woke. He's good and the song is too.
Because this is not his song. It’s Trey pendley song
@@mikehiers3332 phone is not his he’s just covering it look up Trey pendley
He's not really playing either.
Well maybe pray for Him to do God work, and he has beautiful voice

To make it in Nashville nowadays you have to have "young", "Lil", or "thug" in your stage name.
