First! You did a great job with her hair. Sometimes, it's less about the execution & more about the client's preference. So while she didn't initially like it, it's not because it wasn't beautiful.
Thank you soo much! ❤️❤️❤️I have to remember that, but sometimes it’s hard. I want every client to LOVE their hair, but that’s just not realistic, lol. Especially when they try new styles.

As a braider, I know it can be very devastating for a client to say they didn't like their hair especially when you felt like you put your heart and soul into the style. Needless to say, I personally think you did an OUTSTANDING job however I feel that the shape of her head wasn't made for this style. Her head and face are narrow which could've made it look a certain way. But don't let it get you down love. I've been there. Sometimes styles may fit one client better than the other and it can be because of many factors (head shape, hair density, head size etc) Nonetheless its very creative and you be proud of yourself! From one braider to another.

Thats honestly the hardest thing as a hair stylist; giving the client exaaccctttllyyy what they want. So many times I felt like I did an awesome job, the client wasnt satisfied. I think thats what made me start giving clients my professional opinion about different styles... not to discourage them, but just to give them an idea of what it'd be like if they went through with the style. For example, one of my clients had about two inches all around her head of baldness due to the pulling of her edges for years on end, (I was not her stylist when that happened) and she wanted to know if she should get a braided ponytail. I told her I didn't believe that was the best idea, because she didnt want to put any more strain on the front of her hair, being that it was tas fragile as it was. She understood exactly where I was coming from, and she chose something that better suite the condition of her hair. It can be difficult, especially when someone doesnt feel good about work you've done, when you know your goal truly was for them to leave with a genuine smile. I feel ya pain! You got this! (The style is very beautiful ❤️)

It was both nice and meh. I understand where she was coming from. When I do half up and downs on my hair, I found sometimes I have to make the braids/flat twists/rubber bands in the front not go so far back in the middle of my crown. It falls better and not make such a flat area at the top. Sometimes I’ll even part in front of my ear all the way across. It makes a difference.

I think you did a great job on your clients hair it’s neat and clean, but I also understand how she feels. Maybe you could have only did two rows of the crisscross ponytails so the singles wouldn’t start so far back.

I like it. It’s very neat I just think the rubber band things went back to far. Those top braids needed to come forward just a bit. You slayed this though, I’ve watched a lot of braiders do this style yours has to be by far the neatest so great job.

What you always do is create beautiful designs with hair.

You did an awesome job. In my opinion as you asked I would have done it smaller braids or made it look more fuller due. I would have added the curly hair.

Great job braiding! It was super neat, you could see your efforts. I loved the front but probably would have preferred the back in a braided bun or even a pony tail at the back of the head with the braids from the nape of the neck meeting at the back of the head in a high pony. I love the criss-cross railroad tracks.

All styles aren't for everyone..a stylist should be able to look at a person's face/ head shape & tell what style is for each person..but to each its own. So what did you end up doing because she didn't like it? You always do a beautiful job

It was a beautiful style! I loved it as a fellow stylist! For me (personally) I would have maybe done the braids in the middle of the head a little smaller parting. That’s because I like a full head less parting but again just like one of the other commenters said it is personal preference! I love it though for real!

I wouldn't keep it that way. It is the fact she has to sit there a long time to be disappointed. When I go to salon put me in front of the mirror so I can see.
She actually ended up liking it, she just had to style it. & this is the style that she came in and asked for.
I Love Your Work. I think the connects are going too far back for her small head, which is why it’s not that full in the back. Other than that it’s beautiful. The size of the head matters with certain styles. Keep up the Beautiful work girl!!❤️❤️

i believe i know why she didn’t like it. this hairstyle doesn’t look as appealing on girls with bigger heads/foreheads… especially since they are large box braids. if she chose the braids to be smaller & she only got 1 “x” or 1 crisscross she probably would’ve liked it better. i don’t have a big forehead but i personally think i have a big head so i like small/medium braids on my head better because i’m insecure about my head! but girl these braids are so pretty & neat 😍 i’m working on starting a hair business as well & i hope i can be as good as you or even better when i build my clientele. good luck on your hair journey luv 💙

I don't EVER comment on videos but I just had to! Your work is awesome, however, the style was just not it. With the crisscross in the front, smaller, more full braids in the back would've looked more appealing. I am just learning to braid and I can tell you this, I'd definitely watch your videos for learning experiences but it's the size of the box braids that took away from the style, other than that, it's flawless to me!
