Anyone in 2020 watching this can see how much Jon has improved though. i ranked diamond 2 and am shocked by how bad people are... Playing with randoms is complete aids. nobody can hit any sort of aerial hardly at all and there is no rotation whatsoever... I can clear the ball down field or set up a center pass and both my teammates will just be sitting directly in front of the goal waiting... WAY too far up, plus it is both of them... so the enemies clear the ball and it is just an open net every time. Not to mention that after 2 goals your teammates fucking leave. it is literal video game cancer. anybody else struggling with this???
he is, its just the ranking system is fucked so it allows him to be, if you play solo a lot, or with friends of comparable/same skill, you will be a lower rank than someone that always plays with people, and with people of higher skill, the ranking system easily allows players to be carried, not even purposefully, it just happens, its what happens when a ranking system in a team based game is only based on win/loss....if there were other factors that changed the amount of points you attained or lost in a win or loss(for rank) compared to your team mates, this would improve the issue. psyonix could easily balance this by factoring points, assists, goals and saves into the amount of points you attain, so that team mates that were carried got less points (towards rank) than the player that carried them, that wouldnt be perfect either, but a ton better than what it is now. its why theres such a huge boosting issue in the game currently.
Justin Jacobs That doesn't work unless there is a system that deducts points for fuck ups. Someone could get a garbage goal but whiff 3 saves and the system would rate based on just the goal. The point system itself is broken. No way you can use that
