Mourning clothes were definitely a matt finish, and often with a crepe overlay or made entirely of crepe (which was also used to trim hats). Shiny black was for regular wear, and was quite popular.
I just found your channel today and am very much enjoying watching your videos. I’m in the USA, living in South Carolina, but I’m from Wisconsin and I lived about an hour from Waukesha. If I may, it’s pronounced wah-ke-shaw. Wa as in water, ke as in Ken, shaw seems self explanatory. It’s from the Chippewa language and means little fox. :) I’m off to watch the regency corset video now, thank you so very much.
I'm delighted I found your chanel - you took me on an amazing journey and I even celebrated your finds with you - Latina Style! 👏🥳😁😄 Thank you for sharing... and Congratulations on your mystery box treasures 🎉🥰
Thank you! I'm still figuring out my storage system, so it's very much 'boxes in whatever spot will fit in my closet' but I hope to have a good solid storage system one day.
Great video! The serendipity of the eyeglasses and matching locket was so lovely. Really enjoyed all the nice detail shots. Also, your overall energy is so calming! Just happily subscribed!
I just found your channel while looking for a good example of how to make handkerchiefs. Your video is wonderful! Please, please, put the microphone closer to your throat. Your beautiful soft spoken voice is having hard time coming through my speakers. I am looking forward to your future videos.

This is lovely. I would love to see how you store your vintage outfits.

That tin photo caused me to get a little misty eyed, so lovely :)
Me too! It was such a cool surprise and she looks like such a delightful person!
Wow, such a box of treasures!
This was a most interesting video; thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to get and open!

Thank you so much! 😊
I immediately looked up Witchy Vintage and saw all the mystery boxes are sold. I hope they do more!
She does restock from time to time (I think she's done 2-3 restocks since this video) but they tend to sell out fast!
@ ❤️ I’ll keep checking, thank you!
I didn't hear any clicking :-) it sounded good. What a great box! Hope you do this again.
Thank you! So many times I hear tiny little blips and clicks it sounds crazy loud to me - it's reassuring that it's not actually noticeable :)
@@HalflingSeamstress - Keep up the great videos.
About the hot pink edging - maybe look for rayon hem binding?
What a wonderful video! I didn't get my notification so I'm just watching it now!
Yay, thank you!
