- Welcome back to Sam's Bike, where we only talk about e-bikes. In this video, we will be building up my new, fully custom-painted Canyon Strive:ON eMTB with some Sam's Bike Style.
I chose to build up my 2024 race/dream build electric mountain bike on the Canyon Strive ON after testing and reviewing it in May 2023. If you haven't seen my review of the Canyon Strive ON yet, I highly recommend checking out the link below.
Here is a list of the parts I used for my custom build on the Canyon Strive:ON: custom painted but UVES in Madrid in a medium, Fox 38s in 170mm, the new Rock Shox Vivid ultimate, Hunt wheels with Schwalbe Tacky Chan tires, TRP DH-R EVO brakes, TRP EVO 12 derailleur, Crankbrothers small Stamp 7, Forx 155 cranks, Bosch Race Motor, Absolute Black chainring and spider, Ergon E-Mountain Sports Seat, OneUp Dropper Post V2, OneUp Carbon E-Bar, OneUp 42mm Stem, OneUp EDC and DMR Deathgrip.

Bit of asmr there. Seeing the details up close makes you appreciate it more. Them trp brakes look sick. Can't wait to see it on the trails

Great looking ride. Congrats! I was looking for something in full power/lightweight category. I believe the Strive is approx over the 50lb mark correct? I am in the USA.
Thanks mate the strive is coming in at 24kg which is about 52 pounds.

Love this colour combo , but I still struggle to 100% like the strive , as the down tube looks massive and cable and hose routing through the head set just spoils it a bit for me , still wouldn’t say no though 🙂

Try a Orbea wild this weekend, and guess what , bloody cable routing is the same as the canyon 😂🤦🏼♂️

Beautiful bike build Sam! Thanks for sharing! I use DMR Snow Camo grips on all my bikes. ❤ And also TRP brakes on my Orbea Wild M11 (coming soon - hopefully). Love the colours and the video.

@@SamsBikesI love the DeathGrips. They're more comfortable to ride than the Ergon ones I'd used before. It's just a waiting game for my Wild it seems. I think it's been over 6 months since I ordered it. They keep pushing the date back due to not having all the parts I think. Maybe if you know someone at Orbea out there in Spain you can put in a good word for me! :)

@@SamsBikes I put a deposit on it. But with -30 C to -40 C temperatures here in Calgary right now, I'm not missing it. As long as I get it before spring time. In the meantime I'll continue to ride my Norco Bigfoot VLT fat-ebike when it's not quite so cold.
