LTE X2 Handover(X2HO) Call Flow Procedure | LTE eNodeB Handover over the X2 Interface (Eng-Hindi)

  • • The target eNodeB receives performs admission control on
    receipt of the Handover Request.
    • The target eNodeB responds with X2AP Handover Request
    Acknowledge.
    • Information about the accepted RABs is included in the message.
    • The Uplink and Downlink GTP Tunnel information is included
    for each RAB.
    • The tunnel assignments are made at the target to transport
    traffic during the handover.
    • A Handover Command message sent via a transparent container.
    • The source eNodeB send this message to the UE.
    eNodeBs in LTE are interconnected with the X2 interface. If two eNodeBs are served by the same MME, handover from the
    source to the target eNodeB will take place over the X2 interface.

    You didn't Cleared End Marker Data Packet and UE Context Release by SeNB, If HO Failed Then How RRC connection Resume will be performed in case if any Critical Situation Faced by UE or TeNB or RACH Failed,
    Should be Discussed about MeasEvents Also,
    Its a Brief Knowledge but Good,

      X2 is within same Mme.. so changed of MmeUeS1AP id change is not possible i think

      After path switch response from mme, Target enb sends UE Context release to Source enb and that is when all the earlier resources including x2 are released

    Hello Sir, Thank you very much for sharing the valuable information.
    I am having one query. During X2 Setup establishment why do we need to use S1MME interface to get the IP address of TeNB, however same can be done using X2 interface as control plane signalling is also there? Please clarify this to me.

      Once the X2 setup procedure has been completed by x2 setup response, the X2 interface isoperational.

      control plane signalling is always there so no need to ask TEID info through MME . it can be done on x2 interface itself

      The most common reason for the HO failure in the execution phase is the Physical sync issue on the Target ENB side and these could be due to late or early trigger of the HO. Primary reasons for the HO failure in the prep phase could be X2 Link issues, configuration issues, Target side Admission control

    Can you please tell me is "MODIFY BEARER REQ" msg also send by sgw to pgw or sgw directly response to mme "MODIFY BEARER RES."?

      Each of these nodes interact with tandem Tunnel IDs.. so only those nodes which have connectivity with target enb require modification.. since pgw only talks with she in both user and control plane so no need to modify those end points. Each node can identify the UE via imsi which was established during the very first transaction the UE made when default EPS bearer was established.
