The samurai line in general is a home run and such a badass concept. If a samurai concept fits any character, it's definitely batman given his roots as a true ninja

Yes I agree Chris about the snow it looks like icing sugar, they should of added more blue to the paint to give the snow more depth but saying that it's still an amazing piece but it could of been a 10/10 but because they got lazy when painting the snow it's a 9/10.
Wow! It resembles Daikoku-sama, one of the Seven Lucky Gods you see in Japanese temples. Daikoku brings wealth. To the Japanese, this evil penguin looks like a lucky god. The idea of a penguin statue that incorporates Japanese culture is really cool.👍✨
Thanks for the great review Chris! Very impressive and detailed statue. I agree with you regarding the snow. It would have turned out better, if the snow was done in a flat white, as the glossy paint does make it look like frosting. Blue undertones would definitely have helped as well.
Samurai Penguin packs amazing detail for a truly spectacular piece. I do agree the snow looked more like cake frosting and some nitpicks with the umbrella in the background, but still a must buy! Chris I want to remind you that another company, Prime One Studios also has a Penguin of their own. Batman that is sitting on top of the building watching him can be paired. Are you going to do a review of Prime One Penguin?
Hey Chris I love it so detailed amazing sculpt and paint.I think they should have done the umbrella with Bamboo instead of metal would be more accurate other than that and the snow its a hit!!
I saw this piece at New York Comic Con and I have to say it's one thing to watch it on video but it's a completely different thing to see it in person when I see this piece the penguin is second compared to everything else the detail and the pieces and the penguins that surround it is nothing but beautiful personally I wouldn't be getting this because I prefer to get the penguin the new penguin that comes with the other head sculpt from Batman Returns but I really do encourage that they continue the samurai line I absolutely love it
Beautiful piece! That’s a lot of work by the sculptors with all the intricate details and Japanese artwork applied for $1,700+ Samurai Penguin on a throne based on the comic and animated film. Batman set in Japan’s feudal period doesn’t make much sense after Elseworlds, comic writers today put him anywhere in story lol! Already PO’d Prime 1’s $1,599+ Penguin 1/3 DX with swap out heads with Collin Farrell and Danny Devito’s, arms, and umbrellas. Wish Prime 1 included add on rocket launcher packs for the penguins. Was gonna get Iron Studios Bats Returns Penguin but he’s 1/10 and he’ll look too small next to my Tweeterhead Bats Returns Catwoman 1/4 2.0 and Sideshow Batman Michael Keaton 1/4 statues.
Hey Chris, awesome piece but like you, I couldn’t get into the samurai line either. I suppose I’d still be considered a new subscriber. Love the channel but have you posted a video of a Batman piece you didn’t like. Seeing a contrast of what you’re into vs not would be nice.

Congrats Chris! What a cool statue and review! Just got it in recently too. The umbrella was the only downside for me.
could be a fun project to re thread that fabric on a wooden umbrella. There are tutorials about how to make them from skewers and dowel rods and such
When you pay over $1000 for a statue, it shouldn't have paint issues like that. I can't get over that frosting look.
