Great review George, i own the blu ray copy which has 2 blu rays but sadly Eureka have once again released one jewel case with a god awful reversible cover for China O Brien 2.
Picture & sound quality however top notch.
Had a great reply from Cynthia Rothrock on her you tube channel when i messaged her saying how her movies helped me through my breakdown during my adolescence, i couldn't believe it when she replied.

Thank you for this. I have this on order so I can finally upgrade from my DVDs. The VS release has a much better cover. I checked the details on both releases to see what the difference was with the special features. It's interesting to see that there are a few on this release that VS doesn't have, and vice versa.

I kept mentioning that 30 minute making of documentary to Eureka. They never replied. Seems it is going to be included in the VS release. You are right about it feeling like tv show / movie. Don’t think it helped the films wheee shot back to back. Not sure we need China O’Brien in 4K. Might pick up the Blu-ray up at some point. The UK video artwork for both films was awful. Keith Cooke should have been a massive star. Heard he turned down a contract from GH. Need to pick me ‘When Taekwondo Strikes’ soon for the movie itself and the best of martial arts movies. Still have the laserdisc of that one.
I was wondering why they didn't put it there. Hopefully VS does have it yes! The Blu-ray is good enough mind you, and yes, Cooke should have been a much bigger star. The WTS Blu-ray is well worth picking up and the doco looks amazing on it :)

Sorry, but they've annoyed the out of me with this release. I hate having to choose between which cover to use. Would it have been so hard for them to give us 2 cases?
Yeah I do prefer single releases for the artwork, but hey?! I'll be putting the Vinegar Syndrome release up against it soon :)

Thanks for the video! I gotta say, I think Battle Creek Brawl absolutely worked - it’s just totally different than Jackie’s HK stuff. I readily admit that I have a nostalgic affection for it because it’s the first Jackie film I ever saw, but I do think it holds up quite well and I love it just as much as I always did. Great cast, nice period setting (if not always totally authentic looking), memorable whistleable music score, just a charming chunk of fun. I’ll never understand the negativity on it from Jackie fans. I’ve never seen the China O’Brien films, but now I’m curious about them, as I do love Cindy’s HK stuff of course (who doesn’t?) but would like to see a different flavor of hers, warts and all. From the trailers they look like entertaining American action cheese in the late ‘80s/early ‘90s mold, and I have a big soft spot for that stuff; I think I might hafta pick up this set!
I did reply to this, so it might pop up later lol - Don't get me wrong, I did love Battle Creek Brawl for decades but I feel it hasn't aged well, or perhaps I'm just tired of it :) A big part of me always sighs when watching it though as I can't help but think what could have been had Clouse let Jackie do what he does. Still, if you loved it then you'll enjoy these for sure. Thanks for watching :)

Nice video. I like the films despite their flaws and their very low budgets. Is the widescreen ratio the correct ratio? The german dvd was also 16:9 and seemed cropped.

They do take me back. This was a great upgrade!
I grabbed the standard version. Sure the pace is questionable, but it just goes to show what a poorly thought out 4:3 crop can do to murder a film. It feels much less cheap and stiff with the full image.

I'm just waiting on the VS release myself. I have the Arrow Blu-ray release of The Guyver and will in interviewing Steve Wang soon for the channel. I love his movies and Drive is amazing! Got a great Blu-ray release from 88 Films, so check it out if you can :)

I was thinking of the 4k version but that means you will see the stunt guys in their wigs and even more in 4k.
So i might do the Blu ray version
