I mean to be fair if you’re in a stressful situation you would ideally empty the first mag. Which means it wouldn’t really matter about how hard or soft you press unless you’re just looking to prematurely release & waste ammo. a quick reload is a quick reload. Only sleight of hand reloading benefits from the demonstrated mag release functionality of the build or just proper thumb placement as you pull the mag down your thumb would slide over the button resulting in a smooth “soft press” action.

Hopefully they fixed the AR style release on this. I have the OG raider, and the AR mag release is so gritty and hard to push it’s unusable. Also it’s not in front of the trigger like an AR either, it’s forward and below so you have to break your grip to use it.
There’s one more mag release lever in a standard pistol thumb position (the 2-stage release activates it) and that’s my go-to. Works good and feels good.

I thought about it, and it seems you have to press the front button (at least lightly) to release the magazine in the foregrip. In a self-defense scenario, I don’t see myself needing to eject the extra front magazine unless the one already in the pistol is out of rounds. Realistically, I’ll only need to press the foregrip magazine release button all the way in, which some say could happen unintentionally when full of adrenaline. However, if you’re full of adrenaline, pressing the button all the way is exactly what you need since you would only need to eject the front magazine when your first magazine is out.

I wonder if they’ll have the ambi slide release kind of how you had with the Gen 1 Raiders. I found it makes reloading feel pretty smooth and was disappointed they didn’t keep that feature with the newer Raiders.

I like it, even if i didn't i'd still be impressed you even designed something, mostly because being negative isn't going to help the gun industry innovating. I'd just rather you could use a different pistol with it and not a sig.

These are neat but SERIOUSLY....I can not think of one instance where I'd use this over my shorty AR15 (pistol with a brace, 100% legal as well). If you're larping or showing off at the range, go nuts, this gadget really is super cool *looking* but practicality-wise? I'll take my short AR every time. Plus, I have 2x30 rd mags locked together so I have 60 rounds on the gun plus the extra mags in the door of my truck/under the seat.
But don't get me wrong, the engineering of the lock/release mechanisms is next level....

@@fcensoredk1556 A second in live combat often is the difference between life and death for you and/or others. Hitting those releases requires fine motor skills which are often the first things lost once the adrenaline starts pumping. Even the best of the best train not to depend on such skills when it comes to an enemy that knows what they are doing and whose soul purpose is to end your life. It's just too risky...
