- I went fishing in the Everglades for peacock bass! I fished a roadside canal that was full of aggressive peacock bass. I used spinners, swimbaits and jerkbaits to catch them.

Peacock bass has always been on my bucket list,so glad I don't have to go to the Amazon to do it lol
I've been "skydiving" on a cruise ship. Come on down, guaranteed you'll get some. Our Florida peas are fun but...
We all love hearing that drag sing and sing. Nice video -just to easy to have fun when fishing.
That peacock bass seizure like shake when you get it out of the water is something else
i swear it seems like in Florida, you can take your fishing rod to a puddle in the road and pull out a massive fish..lol. Crazy
I wish I had videos but I was in del ray Florida and I was fishing this pond and catching a ton of peacocks
Thanks for catching the different species. I have enjoyed these videos from Florida but can't wait to se you back in your natural habitat.
Happy to see you again
Those "catfish" were Chaetostoma. You find them in freshwater tropical aquariums, used to keep the glass clean. They were released into the canals, by people, just like the peacock bass, red tiger oscars and the walking catfish. Like the Burmese python, they too have thrived in the Everglades and Big Cypress Swamp.
Very nice I love it when the fish cooperate like that! Good sized invasive call for a catch’n’cook!!!!
Love the double spotted peacock! So rad! Great episode, as always
Cool how peas change scale and eye colors around Florida .
my main two bucket list fish to go after is a sturgeon and a peacock bass. Also another great video and great fish catching too
Awesome job buddy! This is a perfect spot to catch them pretty peacock bass!
Nice video bro. Love the action. Very cool. Thanks for the video!!!💪💪💪
You can literally stick your hand in and catch a sucker fish by the tail. In the spring they make caves on the banks with only their tail hanging out. You can catch them all day 😂 I grew up down there.
Those plecos are no joke
@@patrickharris4641, oh yeah. They will rip you up if you aren't careful.
Literally foul hooked a armored catfish a week ago 😂 wasn’t able to recognize what is was before thanks for the video ✅💪
Awesome video Hawk, those little jerkbaits will slay the trout in your neck of the woods!🎣
To answer your question on what plecos eat. It changes with the species but it is usually a mix of wood, algae, plants, and meat. The amounts of each vary greatly by the exact species.
Fish Hawk in the glades! What a novelty. Creek Fishing Adventures rubbing off on ya?
Cant believe you threw all those delicious fish back in the water ..wow
No harm in making use of what you have. No wasted drive space that way.
Commitment complied with.
As much as I love your trout videos I want you to continue to do different kinds of fishing to be more appealing for your other fans that have different interests than myself so you can continue to received the funding that allows you to do this in the first place. The more people who watch your videos the more funding you get so I'm not going to complain about you expanding your horizon when the end result gets me what I want as well. Your videos are always great no matter what your re going for anyways so just keep doing what you been doing and I'm sure a lot of your fans would understand that. 👍
Appreciate that a lot! Thank you 😃
I swear i have no luck with peacock bass down here in homestead. I haven't caught a single one
Anutha great vid my friend. 🙂👍 Did you by chance try any of these for eating?🤔 Keep em comin bro. Peace ✌😎
How about some FishHawk polarized shades 😎
Knifefish, nothing like it
What canal are you fishing ? I'm going to miami In may .looking to catch peacock Bass
Never ask a man his secret spot! 😂 and never touch his gun and woman , two laws of the land .
Why are you releasing invasives back ?
Peacock bass were *purposefully* introduced to Florida to control other invasive fish.
At this point it is futile to fight in invasive fish species. Entire water system, canals, lakes, rivers, streams in Florida are practically controlled by invasive fish species. You cannot compare it to Burmese pythons in the Everglades. I hate invasive species lizards called Ameivas and agamas (Africa). But you also have iguanas and you have curly tail lizards from Bahamas and every Cuban anole and knight anole is invasive . In bird species you have the collared dove, euro starling and sparrow in the millions in urban areas. So I do i understand you . But….
In Texas it’s illegal to release invasives. And ring neck doves don’t count towards your limit. Heck you can hunt hog with no license if you have landowners permission
@@ryanupchurch9683 cool , I didn’t know that about fish laws in TX must be you have more native populations than invasive . Y’all got gar, bass , bluegill and catfish just like us. Maybe even native perch and invasive carp? We got snakehead, Oscar , cichlid and tilapia , plecos etc! You can eat or release nobody kills to kill.
We have a Native cichlid. Snakeheads and tilapia are starting to show up in larger numbers. Some native (semi) and non native carp. Native buffalo that people confuse with carp. One place with year round rainbow trout and a couple of lakes with freshwater red drum. Also people mix up Grendels with snakehead and think every gar is an alligator gar. But what we really NEED is some Nile crocs in the rio grand. And heck wouldn’t hurt to put them in the red river to cuz you know. Okies.
