The Sony z190 is a great camera, but only in high light. When I zoom in, the aperture drops to 2.6, which is terrible. The Z280 does not have this feature. I'm very curious about why this camera exists and why it exists. and in reality a 2.6 aperture is similar to a 3.4 aperture.
Okay, here is my problem with either reviewers or camera manufacturers: $2000 camera. $3000 camera. $4000 camera. Every review ends with some version of, "Who is this for? Run-n-Gun, ENG and Documentary filmmakers." The only conclusion I can arrive at is that no camera under $5000 is good enough for narrative filmmaking. And please, annoying guy that no one likes, please do not come on here with "It's not about the camera, it is about the story." I AGREE, but for some reason we are all trying to produce the best possible footage.
Im considering buying a camcorder like this but i want one that has really fast lock onto Focus i mean Fast Focus Locking as i film mainly Common Buzzards in the sky and hate when using Auto Focus and the Buzzard jumps in and out of Focus.
Is there any chance you can look into or talk about this subject..... Instead of continuing to make camcorder with 1/3”or 1/2 “, sensors such as Sony pxw z150 and z280, why can’t Sony also make a camcorder with the sensor and mount of their D-SLR A7 series cameras. Just imagine a camcorder with the quality, low light ability of A7sii (or the new A7siii), with audio Xlr, no more over heating issues, no more video limit of 30min, Built in ND filters etc etc not forgetting the full frame bokeh!!!!! surely there is a Market for this type of camcorder with a full frame sensor and mount??? So why hasn’t Sony made such a camcorder????? Kull
I have a Z190, but the camera's alarm keeps going off. I can't turn it off! I reset the camera completely, changed every setting I can find about the alarm, but I can't turn it off. Anyone knows what to do?
Hi Peter, congratulations on your great and informative videos. I need your advice. I am a freelance videographer and I currently have an HXR NX80 and want to trade it out. What would be the next step considering low light performance. PXW Z190 ?. I even thought of an A6400 + PZ 18-200 aps lens, but it did not convince me. I would really appreciate your advice. Besides I plan to invest in an FX3 + FX6 but what I need most is a proper video camera to replace my HXR NX80. Thanks and greetings from Lima Peru.
any chance u can do z190 & z150 footage comparison ? specially in 4k n also low light :)
Do you have sample footage of the PXW-z190? I also would love to see a comparison video of the z190 and the z150

i can't access the clips when i record with PXW-190
Thanks, I always enjoy your reviews. I don't think the subtitles are necessary... your English is fine!
thanks for your watching and support. We provide subtitles for people who can't turn on the sound
I agree. Some of the subtitles didnt quiet match up either. Great review thanks!
Awesome comparison, any difference on quality between the z150 and the z190?
Looking forward to see some low-light footage.
How about low light performance ?

Hey Peter,
Is model any good for live-streaming ?

Is the pxw capable of taking stills?
HI what about low light
Hi there, been watching a few reviews but none talk about the Image stabilization! would this camera work without tripod?
What about the Sony pxw z190 battery consumption
it drains faster than guiness beer in an irish pub
you need the bu60 or bu90 battery not the stock one, the bu30, that's garbage
Also how is this camera

Does the pxw-z190 have infrared capability?
It doesn't have infrared capabilities.
