love this tutorial! I took gathered, puffy sleeves off of a shirt and couldn't figure out what size/shape to sew back on. using your method for making a sleeve pattern, I made the perfect sized sleeve for my shirt.
I used to have problem with my sleeves after cutting, as my sleeves will be shorter than my bodice. But after much practice and practice I’m getting better. Thank you so much for sharing, Mel.
I just found your channel... All your videos are clearly and easily illustrated..uncomplicated.. Thanks for sharing.. Looking forward to learning so much more
Thanks so much, please this pattern of sleeve does not work on princess dart armhole because the front armhole is more smaller than the back by 1.5 inches . please help me on how to achieve a perfect sleeve for a princess armhole. Thanks
Hi dear, thank you so much for your videos, I’m learning with you . Can you please help me with my cap’s height, my busy is 40’’ . When I calculate my cap’s height, it gives me 3,83’’. Do I use 3,75? Or 4’’?
Hello sew mate Yes you can round it to 4 or if u want to the use the exact measurement 3.8 on the tape measure is the bar after the 3.75. Never round down . It’s better to have a looser garment than one that is too tight. Best taylorMade
@@TaylorMadeDesignsSewing thank you so much 😊, I really love your videos, I can rewatch them many times as I need to take sometimes notes of what you say. Can’t wait for your next videos. Can you make a video of how you sew the sleeves in, I really want to see a close up. Also, do you prefer to sew the sides first then ease the sleeves in or to sew them open then sew the whole close? Which method is easier?
Am so happy you find this helpful. I will do a video show you how to do it. But I love to put in the head of the sleeve first and then I close the sides, it’s much easier to me. Sleeves can be tricky for a beginner but with practice you could be a pro soon. Keep going. Also when you draft your sleeve. Always double check to see if it fits the armhole before you cut.
I have done this 20 times and it keeps coming out too big or too long I should say I don't know what I'm doing wrong my biceps are 14" my pattern armhole came out to 10.5" in the back and 10" in the front and the length that I want my sleeve is 8"even when I try to recreate your measurements it always comes out too wide and I have no idea why
When you draft ensure that you have added any ease allowance on the bodice pattern on the sleeve pattern. Be sure to check the bodice measurements (the armhole) with the sleeve cap measurement to see if they fit. Hope this help. Let me know if you have anymore concerns

Love your explanation. Thank you. Could you please tell me why you only put seam allowance on the sleeve seam underarm and not on the cap?
it is just a preference something i like to do. But you can go ahead and add your seam allowance be sure to add it to your bodice pattern also
Just found your channel and I'm loving every bit so far 👍👍👍👍

There are many videos I have made on different types of sleeve. You can refer to those . Best
Thank you so much. I do not understand why there's no seam allowance for the curve of the sleeve whereas there's seam allowance at the sides?
You can add the seam allowance there.
