That all depends on depth and current speed. Get it as far away from the boat without dragging the bottom. In this area it was 40-60 behind the boat usually trolling with the current.

‘A’ Rigs also work trolling for ocean salmon…the difference is I run the lure off the center point, and load the other arms with 3” thin spoons
