Hi Jim hope your build is as good as mine. Hope to play a little more with the machine after xmas. Keep me informed how you get on Have a great xmas Tony
Hi thanks for your interest it might be advisable to build your machine then at least if there is any problems they can deal with it now. I built mine in my warm kitchen it doesn't take up too much room then I moved it to my workshop. enjoy the build. Tony
I quite like the look of these over the Fox Alien because of proper lead screws instead of belts. Looking at the Genmitsu website it seems they don't have a warehouse in the UK and they estimate taxes of £77, just wondered if you had to pay tax on yours and where it was shipped from? Great videos by the way.
Hi thanks for the interest I purchased mine from there website I found a coupon code and yes I did pay tax but the coupon code and free delivery helped. I paid £453 for mine but I was one of the first to receive one. Amazon did have it at a great price so check them out
Thank you for this. I look forward to seeing how it works out for you. Personally, I am contemplating getting this CNC but as I am a complete novice it will be interesting to see how it performs.
Hi Paul this machine is so well made I just know it will perform great. You have to see and feel the quality of the construction. I will be trying it out shortly thanks for your interest Tony
Wish i could afford to purchase 1 of these. Sainsmart did offer to send me a free 3018 to help with my severe mental health, but then said no stock in uk so tough.
@@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop ty for reply. I wish i could save. But we are barely struggling by with cost of living my partner being dissabled me being mentally ill and her full time carer i can not work. Thats why i reached out to them. If you can afford a machine its great for mental health distraction.
Hi thanks for your interest I am going to build one for mine I am making my encloser 700mm x 700mm x 500mm internal. What I would do is wait until you have built the machine then see what you want as regards space and extraction and lights etc in the unit. Tony
Tony, I am assembling my 4040 machine and I noticed there is a shoulder on the bolts that connect the x, y, and z modules. At the six connection points I can only get 2 of the 4 bolts to seat down properly. Did you have that same trouble? The shoulder is only about 1mm under the head of the bolts. Thanks for the help.
Hi Jim sorry to here about your problem, I have not had that experience all my bolts seated fully. All I can advise is to take a bolt out and check the hole for depth and then check the bolt head for length and the hole should be slightly deeper. If that is the problem just email Sainsmart they were very fast at responding to me. The only advise I can give you is to if you can fit a washer on the bolt or grind a little off the bots. They are the right length bolts they have sent you I hope. Hope this helps let me know how you get on. Thanks Tony
I really appreciate your great review, thanks! I have one concern, as I am ready to pull the trigger on this item on Amazon, and that is the MFD base. It appears that yours are quite flat, but the nature of that material is to sag and that would not be good on a CNC machine. I would be interested in your thoughts about this and if there might be a way to prevent a possible sag.
Good question Dan I prefer an aluminium bed then attach a base board, Sainsmart said that there going to produce addons I hope this will be one. What I have don on my other machine is to secure to a plywood base then put a spacer between the mdf baseboard and the plywood base that stops the sagging then I secure a false board to the top of the mdf and then I machine the face this then makes it true. Hope this helps Tony
@@Tonys.Top.Tips.Workshop Thanks Tony, that's pretty much what I was thinking about doing also. I did order mine yesterday and am anxiously awaiting delivery now after the first of the year!

Thanks for the video Tony. I just purchased a 4040 haven't received it yet so this was helpful.
