Jimin did contemporary dance at school and some ballet as well from what I heard. He was also into popping and locking when he was younger. He was a top dance student at his performing arts school. He's the most rounded dancer in BTS with so many dance styles under his belt. Thank you for reacting to this compilation and celebrating his birthday with the rest of Army

Why then BIG HIT has dropped Jimin from the group few times before they debuted? The reasons were Jimin's dance style was not fitted into hip pop dance as the reason given by BH
Linus TW because he started out as a contemporary dancer and wasn’t used to this style of dance but picked up multiple dance skills throughout the past years very quickly which is very impressive, and he nails them every time.

Jimin is very versatile dancer. he literally can do any genre. hip hop (hes specialist is popping), modern dance, even in traditional dance he got award from cultural conservation society.
Fun fact, Jimin has a black belt in taekwondo and also studied korean sword fighting kumdo (derived from Japanese kendo). I think these trainings also greatly contributed to his fluidity and versatility in dancing. Loved your reactions by the way. You nice, keep going! 💜💜💜

OKAY SO HERE TO SPILL SOME FACTS ABOUT MY MAN JIMIN.
Jimin did contemporary, popping, krumping, ballet, traditional Korean dance, and martial arts, he's also exceptional at acrobatic maneuvers; this is why his style is the way it is and why he moves the way he does. If you truly analyze Jimin's style, you'll realize that Jimin does not stop moving throughout whole choreographies even when they are meant to be static, but the movement will be so elongated and slow it is hard to notice, this is because in ballet and contemporary you're taught to use every single second of a song, there should never be a time where you aren't moving, and you should never arrive too late or too early into your next step, a lot of times if you compare him the other members, it looks like Jimin is behind, but if you watch him only you instantly realize how he's perfectly on time. His musicality is honestly insane.
Also, he's the one who changes the most movements throughout choreos, he's also the one who travels the most on stage during group choreos, and the most versatile one.
Jimin graduated top of his class in contemporary dance and some academic subjects (math, chem, physics). He was that good he was offered a scholarship to study abroad, he was that good his teacher paid for his schooling bcs he couldn't afford it, he was that good that when he decided to audition for bighit his teacher cried because "the world of dance lost an incredible talent". And Park Jimin was that good, that it's been said that competition he stepped foot in was a competition he won.
As talented as Jimin is, he's also an insanely dedicated hard worker.
He honestly blows my mind.

Jimin has 'something' inside his body,I just don't know how to describe,like 'Aura', he can easily deliver his emotion,his story,his feeling through his dance and his body moves. Many people can dance and mostly they are great dancers but only few that has 'something' or 'aura'. I love him so much and I always pay attention to his dance whenever he is on stage.

Jimin is just the most captivating performer! There are other great dancers out there and I respect jhope jk and v equally... but for me jimin is set apart and above because of his grace and beauty that comes through in his movements as well as the charisma and strength !!! What a powerful talent !
Jimin was given the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist in BTS for a reason!
Jimin since around age 12 studied, performed & competed (winning every competition) in hip hop, popping-locking & street dancing. He also attended the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan (city he's from) while going to middle school as well. Jimin then went on to study & perform contemporary dance as well as ballet & traditional Korean dance in Busan High School of Performing Arts (one of the best Arts Schools of Korea) where he was admitted as a top student and later graduated (transferred to Seoul) with honors as Valedictorian! After the media saw him during a performance they referred to him as "the rising star of Busan".
Jimin since a little boy, at a quite young age, was also trained for long in various types of martial arts! Jimin has a black belt in Taekwondo and trained for 8 years in Kumdo (Korean form of Kendo) as well as Hapkido. He was so good that he was even offered a scholarship to go to China to study martial arts more extensively (he did go but only for two weeks instead).
Jimin has been able to incorporate everything he's learned through these various forms & styles of dance as well as his martial arts training into his unique and so amazingly special dancing ability! His own completely new style of dance! Jimin's amazing inner core strength from all those years of martial arts training have also given him the ability to perform those breathtakingly amazing gravity defying moves!

at 2:48 The girl on Jimin's right was having some issues regarding the steps coz she performed at the last minute(idk exactly what happened) so she was not too familiar with the moves so Jimin helped her see the steps and he even moved forward out of the line on the stage for her to see the steps clearly,was keeping a check whether she was able to see the steps or not(you can see him peeking in between)......mah boy's amazing .....he's a great dancer and a great,kind-hearted,compassionate,caring person......love him

The first time I stumbled on a video of BTS (before I ever knew who they were at all) Jimin was sitting on a floor, his back against a wall, and I swear, I could not figure out if he was a real human being or an avatar or something....seriously. He was so perfect, such a beautiful face that he looked totally unesrthly. Still looks that way to me. That's why it is so hard for me to hear of or to think that Baby Mochi ever suffered from any insecurity about himself at all, in any way, but he really did. He struggled with self image for a while and he came into BTS with no experience in singing. He had to learn & train hard on singing but now, the way he hits those high notes you'd think he was born singing from the womb !.He is very special also because of his super loving heart, the way he laughs with his whole entire body that has to go to the ground if he laughs too hard too suddenly, and his inability to sit in chairs without endangering himself everything is so endearing about him.
1:32-1:41 is a variety show named Idol party
4:18 is king of masked singer it's a competition progam Jimin went there as a judge Jungkook also participated in it but it was a different episode and he was there as a competetor to participate and not as a judge unfortunately he didn't win
9:20 was weekly idol it's a variety show Jimin was dancing to EXID's Up and down
11:56 was ASC(after school club) it's a variety show for rookies and the dance was made by Jimin and Jhope. BTS went there a lot of times during their rookie days
The reason BTS don't go to alot of variety shows now is because they weren't treated very well because they debuted from a small and unknown company they were highly mistreated at award shows and variety shows but they now have their own variety show Run BTS you should totally watch it😍💜

Idk if anyone ever mentioned this, but Jimin dancing to Lie was for the trailer shoot. They had trailers for the Wings Album that were pretty epic (since nobody made MV trailers before they did that way back in 2016 leading up to that album) so if younger fans didn't mention it they probs haven't seen it. Y'all have probs seen the trailer by now tho, but I just wanted to mention that. It was a pretty unique concept back in the day.
