I made myself a steak for lunch. NOM
I like my steak medium (57-63 degrees celcius)
It's fine to have the steak without sauce, but mushroom sauce is pretty simple to make so do have a go :) (it's my favourite sauce)
Ingredients:
Beef: x280g, Garlic: x3 Cloves, Rosemary: x1, Butter: x?, Oil: x2 Tbsp, Cream: x0.5 Cup (125mL), White wine: x?, Pepper: x?, Salt: x?

i love how this is a recipe that isnt "salt-pepper-then-just-cook-it-iguess" but also not "firstly you must go to the dead sea to harvest your salt" ... the recipe is just fancy enough to not be boring but simple enough that anyone can do it

as far as the steak goes, thats the recipe all good chefs go by for pan cooking steak. you're only supposed to flip it once per side for the searing though. Its not hard to mess up though lol, thickness of steak really counts, thin stakes cook too much when searing. thin stakes like that are usually done after about 2 flips(one per minuet constantly basting)

As you finish reducing the mushroom sauce:
Take any wet mustard you have (yellow, dijon, honey dijon, etc.) and add at least 1/2 teaspoon or to your taste (I ended up adding almost a tablespoon, although I eyeballed and added a little more of the amount of ingredients than called). It’s a game changer and makes a noticeable tanginess in the sauce’s flavor. Just did that with your recipe and it compliments the steak so nicely. Like it gives the whole dish the extra bit of tanginess it needed. I might be addicted.
It also adds +10 HP upon consumption.

Personally I don’t like mustard but if you only add a small amount, it does add nicely to mushroom sauces.

Fun fact: rosemary can be found in the level 5 herb garden in the east village next to the flower shop. You can buy it with 3 gold per slot. You can also find some in the shallow forest in the southwest! This is also where you can find the mushrooms. You can pay this dude near the waterfall to check your mushrooms for poison using some questionable methods, if they have poison he will buy em for you for 5 gold per mushroom, if they don’t have poison you get nothing, just mushrooms for your steak. Cream can be harvested at the green barn for 10 gold per half gallon, or bought for 15. Harvesting cream is a pain, you can get kicked, lose stamina and maybe a few hearts, but the cream is worth it.

I subbed. You combine one of my favourite things, video games, with cooking and it always looks so TASTY. I also love the simplicity of your recipes and style, you don't feel like an expert or teacher, but someone who just wants to cook their favourite foods in a simple way and show it to the rest of us. It all comes across without you speaking a word. Honestly, I've seen a lot of food channels, but you're my first sub.
