I just got the glitch today that won't let me view a shipping label when I shipped through depop. Glad you mentioned it in this video. This is the second glitch I've gotten. The first being that they told me my weight was wrong even though the post office said it was fine...Thanks to your video I can try shipping through other options and avoid these hassles!

To get a shipping label I just had to use an outside shipping service for that package. And for the weight issue it was a one time warning and nothing came of it.

This was so much easier to understand ! So first class is cheaper but you will have to use your own poly mailer … priority flat rate packages are free but cannot be used to ship first class. So how do you get the flat rate for flat rate packages? Is there a flare rate priority option on pirate ship? I’m watching on my phone I could barely see the screen with that part ☺
Yeah sometimes USPS has delays, but it’s good that your package is being tracked! (Sometimes USPS forgets to scan an item so tracking doesn’t update until way later). This is normal, but in case you’re worried about impatient buyers leaving bad reviews, I recommend just shooting them a polite update and quick apology message notifying the buyer the package will be coming a bit late as USPS has been having delays due to a shortage in workers and high shipping volumes during the world crisis. I typically find that buyers appreciate knowing their seller is on top of keeping track of their orders and care about being timely.
hey! i hope you see this and answer my questions… when you used pirate ship in the video, the shipping was around $5, so did you keep the $8 shipping price on your depop account when you showed the screenshot or did you change it? and what would the shipping process be like if customers bought multiple listings together? would i have to print out multiple labels and package them all separately? whether i choose ship with depop or ship by myself, all the transactions goes through paypal, right? also, does pirate ship give me the tracking number after i fill out all the info and pay? i really appreciated your video, it was really helpful ♥️

If you paid for the label via PayPal, you don’t need to pay again at the post office. You can just drop it off in their drop off bin, or go up to the clerk and just tell them you’d like to ‘scan my package in’ they should just scan it as received and give you the receipt.
At around 11:21 you were mentioning tracking and a receipt. Do you only get tracking information/a receipt if you've talked with a clerk? Is it an important step to go and talk to the mail clerk or can you just drop it off without interactions and still be fine? (I'm trying to avoid anything showing I never dropped and shipped something out) Thank you for all your help!
You will get tracking even if you drop off the package in the drop off bin. However, the reason why some online sellers get an item scanned in with the clerk for a receipt is that sometimes with so many packages in a bin, the postal worker may forget to scan one of yours. As a result, your package doesn’t get tracked and your buyers get impatient, wonder if you’re a scammer, and then file a case with Depop or PayPal or the selling platform demanding a refund from you. All the while, your package’s tracking may be updated along the way down the road, or not at all and it’ll still arrive at your buyer’s doorstep as promised. This happens more often than you think. So much so that when I go to the local post office, I learned that this one guy who sells often on eBay always gets all his packages scanned in by the clerk instead of dropping them off in the bin. As for myself, I like to go in and out as fast as possible with minimal interaction so I mostly drop off the low-value items I can take a risk on losing, versus check-in with the clerk the high value item. Keep the receipt to show that you did your end of the sale and did drop off the package at the post office should you need to prove it to Depop or PayPal when a buyer opens a case. I think in all my time selling online on various platforms, I’ve only had one dropped off package go untracked for the duration of its trip. I told the buyer to wait the 2 weeks delivery and if not to then file the refund. Luckily the buyer later messaged me saying the package was delivered! :)
Over the past 21 years, I have dropped off at least 300,000 packages at the post office without getting an acceptance scan. None of them have gotten lost.

Yes but make sure on Pirateship’s dropdown menu, instead of clicking on “polymailers” make sure to continue scrolling down to the “usps PADDED flat rate envelopes” option. Then the label you print for that will be for that padded flat rate envelope packaging

Hey Judith, Brenda made another video discussing ways to troubleshoot your depop/PayPal when it’s not showing you the label. For me, what I had to do was link my bank account to my PayPal and it worked, although this doesn’t always work. I would check out her video, it helps :)

Hi Kayla! The First Class Package works for the polymailers, not the USPS padded flat rate envelopes. The usps padded envelopes are categorized as Priority Mail. When you use Padded Flat Rate Envelope on PirateShip, instead of clicking on “softpack, polymailer” option, scroll a little lower down the list to “USPS Padded Flat Rate Envelope” to print that label. For USPS, First Class Packages are mailed slower versus Priority Mail are mailed faster. Picture them like service categories.

When I choose “ship with depop” and “buyer pays” it keeps saying the price of the shipping label is $0…..no matter what size or weight I choose….all of my items are more than $40 don’t know if that’s affecting this….this Is seriously so frustrating makes me want to just delete my depop
i would assume so, because the length and width wont change once you put something in the mailer. the only thing that would change is the thickness, which they dont ask for.
If you put “ship with depop,” the buyer pays for the shipping and Depop automatically generates the shipping label for you. If you put the cost of shipping on “My Own Shipping,” then the buyer will still pay for the shipping. They will give you the money and then you buy the shipping label yourself with that money. If you put $0 for My Own Shipping or click to offer “Free Shipping.” Then the buyer does not pay for shipping, and you must pay for the item yourself from the sales amount of the item.
Can someone please explain the shipping charges/fees. My daughter sold a pair of shoes for $30 and Depop took a 10% fee. The buyer paid $11 for shipping and they were charged $43.45. Depop took $18 from my daughter. I am trying understand if my daughter charges a cheaper fee to ship will Depop just take that money anyway?
What about for free shipping? If i list an item and put free shipping would I have to pay for the shipping like with my own money or would it charged when someone buys it.
Normally by law you’re required to include a packing slip if it’s a business transaction, which is what I do for eBay too. Surprisingly Mercari doesn’t do it sooo 🌝

You should use First Class for packages that weigh under 16 ounces.

If you decide to ship with Depop, you should ship in a regular polymailer.

When you use Padded Flat Rate Envelope on PirateShip, instead of clicking on “softpack, polymailer” option, scroll a little lower down the list to “USPS Padded Flat Rate Envelope” to print that label.
For USPS, First Class Packages are mailed slower versus Priority Mail are mailed faster. Picture them like service categories.

I’ve been selling on Depop and imo polymailers are perfectly fine for almost everything. Only reason I use padded is in international shipments

When I choose “ship with depop” and “buyer pays” it keeps saying the price of the shipping label is $0…..no matter what size or weight I choose….all of my items are more than $40 don’t know if that’s affecting this….this Is seriously so frustrating makes me want to just delete my depop
I have a question for the Polymailers on pirate ship do you put the flat measurements for the length and width for when there’s nothing inside of it ?
i would assume so, because the length and width wont change once you put something in the mailer. the only thing that would change is the thickness, which they dont ask for.

If I'm paying for the shipping label, is the buyer still paying for shipping?
If you put “ship with depop,” the buyer pays for the shipping and Depop automatically generates the shipping label for you.
If you put the cost of shipping on “My Own Shipping,” then the buyer will still pay for the shipping. They will give you the money and then you buy the shipping label yourself with that money.
If you put $0 for My Own Shipping or click to offer “Free Shipping.” Then the buyer does not pay for shipping, and you must pay for the item yourself from the sales amount of the item.

Can someone please explain the shipping charges/fees. My daughter sold a pair of shoes for $30 and Depop took a 10% fee. The buyer paid $11 for shipping and they were charged $43.45. Depop took $18 from my daughter. I am trying understand if my daughter charges a cheaper fee to ship will Depop just take that money anyway?
I don’t have a printer and can’t afford it at the moment, is their a way to buy the shipping label or do I need my own printer ?

Normally by law you’re required to include a packing slip if it’s a business transaction, which is what I do for eBay too. Surprisingly Mercari doesn’t do it sooo 🌝

Where do you buy the first class mailers?
I just buy regular polymailers online or at the store
