Fujifilm X-T50 | The BEST Beginner Camera?

- Could the Fujifilm X-T50 actually be the best beginner camera on the market? I took the Fujifilm X-T50 to a portrait session, carried it with me day to day; to find out if the X-T50 is actually a great beginner camera. Also is it worth it when only a few hundred dollars cheaper than it's bigger brother?

Would you use the Film Simulation dial?
Definitely yes
I love the video, but i think big lens looks not good on xt50...
X100 fly was hurt 🤪🤪🤪
Yes
Only to move it to C and leave it there.
Just if it was a „receipe dial“ also saving the fine tuning like H/S, color, WB shift and so on. perhaps fuji will make it possible via firmware, otherwise it is completely senseless for me :-(
As a hobby photographer, I generally do not have time to post process most of my photos. So, for me, having the simulation dial is very helpful, as I can get great jpegs right out of the camera.
I went for this camera specifically for the size. I have pretty small hands so the grip works for me, I can see why others have issues with it though. I wanted a decent light camera to carry with me as my digital choice as I usually am using my heavy and huge Pentax 67. It is definitely a learning curve again using digital as the last digital camera I used was my dad’s canon t6i that I barely used.
At 1700-1900 € (depending on the kit), I wouldn't call it "a beginner" camera, except if you really know nothing about the rest of the market.
I know, a lot of these RUclips reviewers are living in their own worlds.
A6400 is a much better and cheaper option for a beginner
this is supposedly fuji's beginner camera but they marked up the price by $500 since the brand had a huge wave of popularity on social media. I was hoping the reviewers on youtube would punish them for this but pretty much no-one did. just get a sony :)
@@rob46265 You mentioned that it might be Fuji's 'beginner' camera, and that could be true, although I haven't seen Fuji promote it that way. However, as I've previously pointed out, it's not a beginner camera in general, as the video title suggests, especially at its price point. A $500 markup certainly doesn't make it a beginner camera either if you take the rest of the market into account .
@@Pacman1ac you are totally right - this is where I was hoping the community would punish fuji in clips like this - the X-Txx series should not be called a beginner camera anymore. i'm really curious if they are going to apply the same markup for the upcoming X-E5 next year, as that was also their "affordable" model
I’m not a beginner but recently bought this camera as a small camera to use when hiking. I wonder whether it is really that suited for beginners. It’s crazy complicated with far too many buttons and a complicated menu system that has too many options to be assigned to each button. I know many photographers are used to this with their Sony/Nikon/Canon kits but a beginner won’t be. I’ve just spent two days setting the camera up for my style of shooting. There really should be a minimalist mode, not full auto but which disables many of the menu choices that only an experienced photographer needs.
Why call it a beginner camera, it have the same spec as X-T5.
Almost, but I see your point
Please advise me what to choose, for photo shooting and video in rare cases; Fujifilm X100VI, - XT 4, XT 5 or XT 50?
I dove into the camera world about 3 months ago and bought a Canon R10. After trying some different lenses, I've really come to love the 35 mm lens. But, after researching a bit more, the XT-50 looks more like something I would like because of the Fuji film simulations. My question... Do you think the R10 is better than the XT-50? Would you make the shift? Thanks!
It was not hard to incorporate film recipes to the Q button so that combined with the film simulation dial is going to be a fun camera for me to take on my travels. I wanted something lightweight with interchangeable lenses.
Great video and amazing photos!
Lmao when you dropped it, gave me a mini heart attack 💀😭😂
I just bought an Olympus OM-D Mark IV but i have no idea what I’m doing 🥲 considering returning it
Recommend not returning it. It is an excellent camera and real bang for buck if you are referring to the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV.
I own both the X-T50 and the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV and the OM-D is the more comfortable one to hold and operate IMO.
Spend a bit of time looking at the reviews online and they will give you a good idea of what the camera can do. The OM-D has a 20 Mega pixel sensor, which is more than sufficient, and Olympus has great colors. Where I live, the OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is about a third of the price of the Fujifilm X-T50 when obtained with the kit lens.
@@oz_steve9759thank you!
Love the mix of indoor / outdoor shooting & b-roll mixed into the review. Really helps put the user experience into context along with the specs. keep it up 💪
Hi. I've just git the x-t50 and can't figure out how to use film simulations for Video. For pictures easy. But once I switch to video, that Film Sim dial doesn't work. Thanks
Yes, very good question.
Hey! I’m looking to start my own RUclips channel and was wondering if you have any used or unused cameras you’d be willing to give away. I’d take any camera! I’d really appreciate your help. Thanks!
After slowing down the footage , it's the lense cap 2:19 .
What recipe did you use on 5:34??? Look pretty cool ✨
I believe that was Kodak 800!
@@StefanoLombardoYT thanks
A pretty good beginner camera is actually on the new iPhone 15. Not even the Pro. Especiall at 6:36 "... if you have no clue what I just said".
I had to laugh at 2:22 because the same thing happened to me! The lenscap was deliberately designed by Fuji so that people would buy the X100 successor - I bet! 😂😂😂😂😂
Are you italian?
A beginner's camera? No way. A beginner needs a simpler, cheaper camera with less confusing features and options.
An old XE-2, XE-3 or XT20 is plenty of camera for a beginner.
I hate to tell you this, but all those other choices have all the same features and only are missing the film sim dial. If a film sim dial is confusing to you, just stick to your iphone.
@@POVwithRC I Hate to tell you this, but all those other choices are a fraction of the XT50 price, and I actually have an XE-2 and an XT20 and even the XT20 is more complex than the XE-2 so I'm not so sure you know what you're talking about.
Hate to tell you this but it needs to be said, there's no need to be a smartass.
Sony A6400 is better for a beginner imo.
Cheaper and has a lot of features, e-mount flexibility is nice
Doesn’t have film emulation but that shouldn’t be a deal breaker
I have both X100VI and XT-50. Frankly speaking, XT-50 is much better than X100VI. X100VI is like a toy. XT-50 is for photography.
I think the XT-50 is intended to be the more "serious" X100VI. That's why posing this as a "beginner" camera is just not it. It's expensive, and it's a full fledged camera with IBIS. If you don't need IBIS then mightt as well go down way lower to learn the basics. The X100VI is just a hype buy and a real bad investment considering the price and fixed lens.
