This is why nepotism isn't fair to any of those involved no matter what business. It's not fair to the competitor that is better and worked harder, but his spot was taken by the kid. It's not fair to the kid because no matter how good he is, no one will respect his position. It's not fair to the fans that get a second-rate product packaged with a premium name label. And it's not fair to the old man because he sees the kid failing - more so than anyone else can - whereas he could have been enjoying the kid's successes in something the kid was actually good at and enjoyed.
David Sammartino would have had more success in a smaller territory.
