I still remember the day she died, I was in a barber shop getting my hair cut and they announced it on the radio, the same day she was to do a show with the Wispers. As a man I sat there getting my hair cut fighting back tears... I was really upset she was one of my favorite singers...

Magical, is the word that I feel best describes the melodic sound of the legendary artist Phyllis Hyman. Although she’s long left this earth, her classic music remains timeless, like vintage wine that keeps getting better with time. Missed deeply, but May Phyllis Hyman never be forgotten.

There are some songs that should never be touched again because they can't be improved upon-- this is one of them. Her voice, sincerity and range of emotion make this song the shining gem that it is and I really miss her whenever I hear it.
