      Question about compounding please
      It means that you are reinvesting interest . However how does it apply to stocks? You are not selling it and reinvesting it..
      Can you please advise?

    Sir there is a very interesting example about the power of compounding that if you fold a paper from 1 to 45 times while every time doubling it like 1 to 2 then 2 to 4 , 4 to 8 so far and so forth which is the concept of compounding , at the 45 th time the higher of the paper will be the distance of earth and moon and on 46 th time it will touch the moon 🌙 from earth 🌍 and come back to the earth 🌍 . How cool is that !

    I already started my investing in the Indian share market , or US share market
    But the main thing is that
    We have to take risks , because risks is everything
    Any single person also take risks in their life and a rich person too take risks in their life to grow their money from money .
    So stay tuned with your investment and don't be in a hurry in this market because you feel that your money will be gone then definitely your money will be gone .
    When you come to this market and try to start investing so from that time we just have to forget our money which we invested in the stock market for 20, 30 years
    And that forgot money will make you a millionaire or multi millionaire at that time when you will not be able to do any work .
    And that time nobody will help you , only your invested money will make you a healthy person.
    So just stay tuned with your investment and forget your investment for a long period

    Dear Ankur, please make a video explaining (using Excel) how expense ratio in a Mutual Fund is calculated. Will be wonderful if you can use some actual example of any fund like you did in this video. I have been trying to get my head around the calculation of ER, but can't really get it. I am sure your explaining it will help many of us to take better financial decisions.

    Here small mistake is we are not accounting for inflation
    Here are the calculations...
    1 rupee in 2000's is equivalent to 7.252 rupees in 2022 so Possesing
    10000 rupee in that time is equivalent for having ₹72520 of today.... and we got ₹92664..
    In end we get around 27% profit in 22 years...

    Hey ankur. I don't think compounding applies to MF or stocks. Coz return growth on these are solely dependent on the unit or the shares you hold against its current value. It doesn't take into account what you have acquired so far. I could be wrong. Please help me clear this out.

    • @TiMon-Experience
      @TiMon-Experience 3 года назад +4

      Hi Abhishek
      Compounding applies to MF or stocks as well. As Ankur was saying the price of the asset (MF or stock) grows due to various reason like company growth, economic growth & performance the value of the asset increases.
      In simple terms you can think of it like the FD (which Ankur hates & clearly show the displeasure on this) where the principle grows in the first year & in the next year on the value that is increased your additional interest is applied. Similarly the MF or Share increases from the existing price & keeps growing.

    • @PriyankaBanerjeee
      @PriyankaBanerjeee 3 года назад +3

      That's what he's saying after the 10 min mark. Compounding only applies to instruments with fixed interest % applied to the whole amount. Growth in stocks comes from growth in the company or the economy.

    • @Shawshank_nn
      @Shawshank_nn 3 года назад +2

      Yeah I have had similar doubts. Price of my share increases by a certain amount and that would be my absolute return. How is it getting reinvested for it to compound?

    • @PriyankaBanerjeee
      @PriyankaBanerjeee 3 года назад +4

      @@TiMon-Experience Not really, if you watch after the 10 min mark, he clearly says that it can go down as well. We simplify it to explain the concept of growth but it's not like anyone is giving a fixed interest % each year. It's only looking back and annualising the returns that it looks like "compounding".

    Even though this is one of the best videos explaining compounding in stocks, I still DONT feel there is actual compounding taking place, its just the value of stock or index that increased with TIME and reflected in your investment. Thats what I feel.

    Hi Ankur, I am from Pakistan and kinda like the content you are making. Here in our country investing in stocks is probably rocket science and the experts connected to psx do not provide useful information that a normal person can understand. Your videos are helping me a lot for me to understand the process of investing in stocks. I have a question for you if you can answer.
    What should be my best option of investment now when I am now at the age of 37 years, earning a good salary, and planning to retire at 45 years?
