This geting recommended to me in 2023 is giving me this surreal experience of finding some old, lost treasure
2012 osu was a much simpler time, lets go back to it :)
yes, it was so much fun back then, especially 2008-2010 most people just enjoy playing multiplayer, failed but laughing and have good time chatting during waiting people complete download the songs at lobby. Now even the skin looked ugly as hell and the patterns looked boring but yeah it fit modern playstyle, so can't argue with it.
2018 osu was a much simpler time, lets go back to it :)

So I tried this game about 30 minutes ago. I went through the tutorial which was helpful and informative. Then when I entered an actual game the colors and lights spun around in a fashion that caused me to say "What the fuck?" Then I died. The end!

Yes you push a key instead of clicking, the default keys are z and x however in options -> input you can change that. For me its much easier, hope this helps :)

Ah okay that makes more sense. Usually when somebody accuses someone of hacking in a cursor-orientated game (Osu, FPS, etc) I just look at the movement of the cursor and see if it snaps or if it's only moving at a specific speed and such.

this is for last year, and silvia played for some time during 2012. thelewa doesn't play anymore either but he's still on here for that reason.
I got recommended this in 2024. Damn I proud i saw this video. At that time, no one would have guessed that we had now passed the 1000pp barrier, and the record is 1711pp. And Mr. Ekk didn’t know what osu is at that time damn😭

Not to play, not to master. A finnish and german are 2nd and 3rd. I'm from finland so i am proud that we can do this. Lewa (in this video) is 2nd. He was 2nd before, dropped to 3rd, back to 2nd now.

You can get a tablet to let you write on your computer so it's a stylus and a tablet that reads what you write.Using a tablet is easier for osu
It means they control the cursor with graphics tablet and play the rhythm with their keyboard

No. Tablet is not easier if you don't know how to read the higher difficulty maps. When I switched to tablet I had that issue. Peripherals do not make the player, it's their own skill and will that makes them the top players.

my bad. i didn't see the thing at the bottom. it was partly cut off by the youtube video thingy.
Technically you need memorization for fading notes. But very basic memorization.
In the next top 25, I will make sure that the commentators are clear before putting them in the video. Otherwise I'll comment on their behalf.
Of course, because I obviously mentioned it in that comment. And it's probably true that these players have faster reaction time than those so called pilots, have fun.

A lot of it seems humanly impossible.. but then again I havent seen anyone perform this in person, on a random computer that has freshly downloaded osu. All they can do is put their osu settings in and get the beatmap they want to play, then do it.
If there is a voting for the best commentators 2013, I will vote for JACKACHAN and White Wolf.

all of these performances seem so... not human :D i mean just the speed of klicking and the moving of the cursor to always the correct place is breathtaking!
and why are they using tablets? does it give you any advantage? and finnaly what advice can you guys give me to get better at osu! (currently i mostly play 4 star songs)

If you think this game is about memorization, you're wrong. Flashlight is the only mod that need memorization.
