How did I not know about this podcast?! I’ve been following you since you were in Florida waiting for your visas! You two are making the best “move to Portugal” videos available. It’s a real service! Thank you! ♥️
We started the podcast in real earnest at the beginning of 2023. For the whole year, we were solely on podcast feeds and then we decided, it was worth putting the video captured to use and getting a RUclips Podcast channel. Thank you for the kind words! Sometime we have a hard time keeping up with the comment section on all of the channels we have but we see you and appreciate you! - Josh & Kalie
Thanks for your efforts in trying to help others! I'm currently doing my homework and checking options - I will email you in due course for assistance!! Thanks again!
Hi you two, well I'll be in Portugal this November for 9 days anyway, then I have to see what happens with our crazy Govt.!I wish I could leave today!!@@ExpatsEverywherePodcast
I like the way you present the information Iam getting my papers to move to Portugal hopefully this year Thanks for helping us to understand the process to move to Portugal
So, so bummed about the NHR VISA changes. I am now pivoting to Southern France as my retirement destination. At least for the shorter term (mid 2025 -> ?) Will keep my fingers crossed for a better outcome to restore or revamp the NHR situation.
Can you make a video or speak about how an EU citizen's transition may be compared to say an american or canadian? For example, healthcare, residency, real estate purchasing... If I am already a citizen of another European country, do I have access to Portuguese healthcare right away, better rates for schools, benefits in purchasing real estate or access to better interest rates, etc? Do I need to apply for portuguese residency/citizenship still? What are other differences and pros/cons of moving to Portugal while already having a passport for the EU? Thanks guys, watch all of your vids!
Thank you. Would you like someone on the podcast to talk about it or a video on our main channel about it? Most of it is the same. It's the moving part that's drastically different. - Josh & Kalie
@@ExpatsEverywherePodcast Either podcast or video on main channel would be great. Would actually be moving from north america - just have the EU citizenship and trying to figure out what are the main differences in terms of benefits of already having the EU citizenship. For example, I know with EU citizenship I can move, live and work in Portugal but having an EU passport is not the same as having Portuguese citizenship, right? Would love to learn more about the pros and, if there's any, cons of this when it comes to moving to Portugal with EU passport. Would we get access to the same services (healthcare) and rates, etc as the portuguese citizens do? Thanks so much, love the channels.
Any ideas on residence requirements in Portugal after the citizenship submission is delivered? I want to submit and leave and just return to pick it up, however long it takes. Like you, I am about a year and change from initiation of the process.
i was asked a question from some usa folks that would like to move to portugal. her husband has traumatic brain injury and need home health, k have no experience in this area. do you know anyone who knows about it.
Kalie is actually going through a rather involved dentist procedure that she's documenting. Our experience here with a couple dentists has been good. - Josh & Kalie
@@ExpatsEverywherePodcast Bom Día! Thx Josh! I hope it goes smoothly for Kalie! Would you recommend dental 🦷 insurance or do you just pay out of pocket?
What a pity that the PT government does not value EU people who are fluent in Portuguese and who genuinely wanted to retire there and step up in the community due to love of the country and the culture. With less than 1 year to my retirement, I now have to investigate another country where I will be welcome without having to pay the same percentage out of my pension as I paid out of my salary, when working. Greece take only a 7% cut, but it’s so far away and I don’t speak Greek. Gutted. Fado da Decepção! 🎶🎤😭
Hello, this is a podcast episode and the format of the podcast is to be somewhat of a weekly show. Welcome to the channel(s) if you'd like to stick around. These podcast episodes are setup in such a way where we begin intro what the main interview is about, do our weekly welcome and roundup, then move to the main portion of the episode. We've added chapters for people like yourself that prefer to get to the main portion. - Josh & Kalie

It was sad indeed 😭😭😭😭 penalties suck.

From what we've been told, the law reads in such a way that after 5 years of residency that one can indeed submit the paperwork and leave Portugal.
@@ExpatsEverywherePodcast Thanks. That is what I hoped. The sooner I get back to Asia, the better.
From where you are doing A2 level portuguese certificate?
If you'd like, email Kalie at info@expatseverywhere.com and she can pass you the information. - Josh

You certainly should be able to. - Josh & Kalie
