  • New technology to repel mosquitoes. I was impressed by how well it performed. I also like the small size, and very low weight.

    The question for me would be, does it have to be stationary to build up a cloud of repellent, or does it work while on the move?

    • @DougShoeBushcraft
      @DougShoeBushcraft  Год назад +1

      the info from the company talks about building up a cloud over a little time. So that is how I tested it, and it seemed to work really well. I haven't had it that long, and didn't test it walking.

    Thanks Doug from North Carolina. Looks like it works well. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being your most favorite piece of gear, how would you rate this?

    • @DougShoeBushcraft
      @DougShoeBushcraft  Год назад +3

      I have developed a system where I treat my woods clothes and gear with permethrin, and also use a homemade repellent on exposed skin, etc. So for this video, I skipped all of that. I hiked into the woods with nuthin. On the 2nd trip I was surprised by the clouds of mosquitoes. But then I was surprised again on how well the Tiny Repel worked as I sat under the tarp for 15 min. But I just got it. I've taken it on the 2 trips. I don't think I can rate it vs other gear yet.

    Interesting, informative, & enjoyable presentation, Pastor Doug! While the FlexTail is extremely effective & multipurose, it is also more expensive (even at discount price) than some folks can afford. Because charging devices eventually run out of power or simply malfunction, I like to have a Citronella Candle with me. They are inexpensive & work well on my frequently- mosquito-infested pier on our waterfront. In no way am I degrading the electronic device. I rejoice for & with those who are fortunate enough to have them! And, as always, thanks for always highlighting your very meaningful presentations with Scripture & inspirational scenery! God bless you & to God be the glory!

      Thank you, Pastor George. The company was nice enough to mail me one. Yes lower priced options are burning Citronella, or burning anything will have an effect. Any sort of smoke can at least help keep them away. But in my test the Tiny Repel seemed to work a lot better. God bless.

    Was this sponsored? Because I’m my opinion this product is garbage…but I bought it with my own money and it repels zero mosquitoes.

    • @DougShoeBushcraft
      @DougShoeBushcraft  Год назад +1

      It worked well for me. I followed the instructions. You have to stay in one place and give it time to build up a zone of protection.

      @@DougShoeBushcraft I stayed in one place. Used it on my deck. Zero effect.

      @@cjmi52 That's too bad. I don't know what happened. I did notice that Dave Canterbury reviewed the Tiny Repel as well, and had good luck with it. One guess I have is that maybe there are different species of mosquitoes, so maybe a species in your area isn't as repelled by it. I've read scientific papers on repellents and they list the species of mosquito. But I'm not a scientist or anything. I just recorded my own results in my area (NH, US on the ME border).
