Most videos for SCM cover all the same topics and the result is boredom. But this video offered new thinking and showed how to find new opportunities to make a positive impact and create real change. Well done!
Dear Mr. Ghamimi: I have a background in purchasing for more than 20 years, mostly as a purchasing agent/buyer for the retail, manufacturing, and formerly with the Chicago public school system. I am very impressed with your presentation. I have been out of the purchasing/buying arena for several years and hope to return to the industry in the near future. I appreciate your wealth of knowledge, especially how well you articulate information. I took a lot of good notes. Much of your information will be helpful to me in my personal, as well as business life. Well Done Sir! Thank you for sharing valuable information in a way that is intelligent, easy to follow, and understand.
This is one of the best negotiations video I have seen! Its invaluable and actionable. These are lessons not just for business but for life. Amazing! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Very nice presentation. As a Strategic Procurement Buyer working for a big mining company I deal with many of the situations you mentioned. I will start to put some advice in practice next Monday already. Thanks for sharing!
really wonderful. got so much in 1 hr which I didn't get in my whole 8-year procurement career. however, I could not understand the "should cost"model.
Omid! you deserves to be godfather negotiation planning, this is very interested training for those who interested to know what is strategic planing GOOD AND USEFULL TRAINING
i got 7 years of experience in Logistics field ,, and now i am really love to change my job .. and Purchasing is my next goal ...this video is really great for me now . thanks sir !
This is so informative, and you are absolutely correct about companies that only hire purchasers to put out fire all day. I currently work for one and am always fighting the fire. This I will definitely share with my colleagues and managers :)
Dear Sir I am Piyush from India. I have an experience in supplier and trading company. Now I want to grow and explore in purchasing sector . Sir, your video is very knowledgeable and is a key factor of SCM. I am a beginner so Could you please provide me pdf for this it would be very helpful for me and would be more appreciated . Thanking you
Coming from distribution pricing side and now moving into the Procurement side, all I can say is WOW. This video is huge and has really terrific insights. So excited to put these into action in my new role.
Dear Sir, very very nice presentation. congratulations. I only wished to see the projection screen while you are talking instead shorty at the end of each part of your speech. However it was a pleasure to see this video.
Sir, One question. When I am asking the supplier to suggest me some additions/deletions in what I want, the suggestions would always be costing more. Supplier would hardly suggest on decreasing prices. Suppliers who would supply at same price may compromise quality. How to ensure quality at same cost by incorporating supplier suggestion ? Provided suggested costs would mostly be on higher side.
I need to understand how we can enter data electronically about petty purchases in case of sudden purchases? Like you need to purchase refreshment items on the eve of meeting, you have to send a person to procure the items. How you can do it through system?
Excellent training, thorough and best presentation I have listen to this year. Thank you for posting it. Plenty of good actions to put in practice immediately.
This reminds me of the kaizen lean initiatives I’ve learned working in the medical device manufacturing industry. AQL, the accepting quality limit was something we focused on in the visual inspection production team. Ensuring and reinspecting for quality control purposes can help down the road in further logistical discrepancies.
A very good presentation!!! Though, I am not into Purchasing or procurement, but this presentation has so much valuable information that applies to any purchasing scenrio. Thank you!
Mr Omid, this is really an awesome presentation. I appreciate the way you explain things, this is pragmatic and concise. I was given purchasing and supply chain courses, and indeed this is hard to make someone use the concepts in real life. Moreover, i'm currently working on an academic project consisting in having different companies from the same supply chain share information about their contrats. This is really hard and usually confidential. People are not used at all to talking about their methods and they don't seem to see the opportunities to communicate better and economize.. I think one of the main problems today is about trust between organizations. PS : sorry for my english.
what if it's not in the interest of the suppliers to share better practices your competitors adopt ? especially when it could potentially result in your ordering less from the suppliers ?
I love this video already, you can tell this is really his passion. I'm just getting introduced to procurement through working with a startup, but this is my first time ever doing this. This video is huge, but are there any more that I can use for guidance to lead me to exactly the right sources for my project?
Dear Mr. Saadat, It is a pleasure and a privilege to have an industry leading CEO such as yourself make such comments about this video. Thank you for the feedback, and for your ongoing efforts in driving improved agility, TCO, and results in purchasing departments everywhere. We both aspire for purchasing to move beyond an administrative overhead function and to be recognized and strategically positioned as a *value added center of profit* for the organization. Omid G
what if it turns the suppliers off when buyers place "minimal-contractual -amendments " as one of the matrix , especially when the commodity is transacted in a suppliers-market?
I am a procurement professionals and this video is like a sweet blues song to me..I learned and enjoyed.
WOW! I know this is an older video, but two thumbs up. I have over 20 years purchasing experience and I learned so many tips and tricks in this video

Hi... I need help in procurement..pls revert
that's exactly my believe you have to negotiate at front not backwards, because when price is established that's it. Suppliers knows they got you!
I don't have words to say, how much your presentation helped me to rework on CLM and to reduce my bottleneck activities.

Raees, you are talking about tail spends. Usually this is dealt with either by ePurchasing systems or via procurement cards.
This is great especially coming from someone saying things out of experience. Thanks for the knowledge.

Val, quality processes yield quality results.... in medicine and in procurement! Be your best!
Inspection is at best 80% accurate if you add redundant inspection you start incurring cost without any quality improvements.
