I loved this game in the arcades. The graphics were so amazing and the executions were sick as hell. Loved the soundtrack too. It was such an underrated game. I remember not many ppl played it besides me lol. Those were some good times. Favorite characters Al' Rashid, Ichiro, Lord Deimos. This game has a special place in my heart.
I owned it for the N64. Killer graphics and the arenas we beautiful. THere was an arena when you get to fight in the water and the water splashes. My favorite fighting game ever to be honest. I no longer play games. I quit in 2010 in order to have a successful career and I did accomplish it, but have lost interest in gaming now. Al Rashid and Lord Deimos was the shit!!!!
Played this in the arcade once just because it was one of like 8 games inside my local Fudruckers. Started a match, picked Dregan, won, and then at the execution screen I remember just smacking a bunch of random buttons and somehow managed to pull off his execution. Never played it again, but it provided that fond little memory.
Damn somebody need to remake or make a sequel to this game. Im disappointed that the game industry forgets about good games like this. Maybe if we had twitter, twitch, and youtube back then this game wouldve gotten the sequels it deserves.
I've never heard of this game before until tonight when I saw a review about it in my recommendations. It mentioned there were finishing moves in the game but didn't really show much of them, like a snippet perhaps. Anyway I searched for the finishers and I'll be honest, I haven't felt scared like this since I saw Mortal Kombat for the first time. Al-rashid's execution was so ef-ing brutal yo, how many times he sliced that persons body mixed with background music was just so stunning/horrifying.
Yeah, turning an opponent into a chicken is not an execution. Not unless the Colonel is going to take him/her to the slaughterhouse to make him/her into more original recipe chicken.
Some of the sound designs for these executions are lacking. Some of them sound like they’re making as much impact as a gentle knock on someone’s front door.
I was all about Lord Deimos and his brutality. Even took that name for a while whenever I needed a name for games and such. I only ever played it in the arcades though, and sadly I didn't know it existed on N64 until long after that system's lifespan.
Ost is godly compared to MK4. Stage design is amazing as well. I love MK but id rather play Mace over Mk deadly alliance - Armageddon. Much more interesting cast of characters, locations and back story for a "first" in the series.
The graphics in Mace, were indeed phenomenal ( I'd say even on par with Tekken 3 ) but the gameplay looks stiff in some areas. MK4 only had terrible graphics, because of the console ports, whereas the arcade version, had a stronger gpu .
@@JumugiDesunra it's far superior to Tekken 3 (arcade vers). In Tekken 3 the whole hardware is rendering the fighters, backgrounds are images... This one is full 3D and if you look closely, even fighters are more detailed (better and filtered textures, more polygons). This game runs on a much better hardware than a PS or a n64 though. The Atari Seattle is based on a MIPS R5000 (like PS2's Emotion Engine) and two 3DFX custom chips.
Discovered this on a family holiday in Ibiza on arcade in hotel bk in 98, needless to say I didn’t see a lot of sun, bought it straight away when back so underrated
This game was freaking insane back in the day. I remember the subwoofers in this game took over the whole arcade. Whenever anyone performed an execution, everyone came running to see it xD
Remember this being at the local theater, also advertised in a PS1 Gamepro special issue 1997, but never actually got ported to PS1 much sadness ensued over the decades :*(
I remember when the game came out, there was some hype that it would turn into a franchise but it was just that. A solo game, and nothing was ever heard from it again. Sad, there could have been some talent with a medieval style fighting game. It was a little ground-breaking if you consider the fact that environment damage was something that Virtua Fighter did at the time and executions was almost only Mortal Kombat.
1:30 *Pick up your SHAO KAHN vs RAIDEN now!!!* [available at your local Dollar Tree and/or Dollar General. pricing and/or quality may vary substantially! not responsible for the 'feeling' of being 'ripped off'. NO REFUNDS]
I've never even heard about this game... this is yet another clone of Mortal Kombat that I've learned... I can't wait to find more. Seems like Mortal Kombat was so damn popular and revolutionary back then that so many clones are made of that legacy. I wonder if this game is available in some console... maybe PS1?
had it for the n64 (before knowing it was an arcade game) it looked at least as good as this video... maybe it's the compression but i'm sure the n64 didn't look as 'murky' either. I liked it.. and fighters destiny, both worth playing.
ps - if you want an actual MK clone, look at 'way of the warrior'... that game really did rip off all the characters and moves. Mace in my opinion was quite different.
+PanamericanistaM0R3Na The first Mortal Kombat came in1992, and Mace on 1997. But the first Mortal Kombat 3D (MK4) also came in 1997. Both games are made by the same developer (Midway).
Mi ricordo imparai la fatality di Lord daimons guardandola 1 sola volta da uno che ci giocava , dato che non c'era internet per documentarsi ma solo riviste di videogames, bisognava arrangiarsi XD ...bei tempi
One of my favorite games as a child.... Favorite player was Xiao Long, there was a cheat code to turn him into a janitor and he would fuck everybody up with his broom! This... Diddy Kong Racing and Zelda: Ocarina of Time got me through middle school
Yeah, I'm not sure about the arcade version but on the N64 if you spun the joystick clockwise on the violence warning screen you unlock Gar and Ichiro.
i like how Koyasha stabs the opponent so many times the sound gives up halfway through. xD
Xd
a mixture of mortal kombat and soul calibur
É um game que a Neatherrealm poderia ressuscitar
I think you meant to say Soul Blade, since this game came out before SoulCalibur.
@@JumugiDesunra oh! i didn´t know!
and killer instinct
The little chime effect when Executed comes on screen is so out of place.
execution feel magical
That chime only appears when it’s a flawless victory-notice how there isn’t any damage taken by the executer.
Those are some damn nice graphics for 1997.
I played this game near my school about 20 years ago, so I think it was at least 2000 ... we considered it the best graphics I remember
and this wasent even the PS2 Era yet, so yeah its very good for the arcade days
tenia gráficas bien poderosas, que ahorita en la actualidad necesitas un buen Procesador, intel core i3 de octava generación o un intel i5 para jugarlo correctamente,
Tekken 3?
'98 my friend. Year 1998.🤦♂️

+VaeVictus666 Couldn't agree with you more. They need to make a new version of this for the current consoles and for PC !
I owned it for the N64. Killer graphics and the arenas we beautiful. THere was an arena when you get to fight in the water and the water splashes. My favorite fighting game ever to be honest. My favorite was hell knight
the chimes sound while the "EXECUTION!" is an absolute buzzkill
Damn somebody need to remake or make a sequel to this game. Im disappointed that the game industry forgets about good games like this. Maybe if we had twitter, twitch, and youtube back then this game wouldve gotten the sequels it deserves.
Why does it make a soft glitter noise when performing an execution lol
It's the sound effect for a perfect/flawless victory.
The Cuccos aren't the only deadly chickens in the world
I had this game, my childhood 🖤

Namira and Takeshi are awesome, I like them
+Wesley C Almost all characters are.
This Game is Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur Combined
0:58 Kano will be so proud!
One of da many games dat deserves a remake/remaster! Imagine da enhanced graphics, da executions lookin' more vicious, etc. etc.
,,, a fucking chicken
WHAT THE FUCK
Yes like you
u wot m8
Yeah, turning an opponent into a chicken is not an execution. Not unless the Colonel is going to take him/her to the slaughterhouse to make him/her into more original recipe chicken.
Nothing out of the ordinary there
Pojo is a running gag character from the era of Midway.
I remember playing with Deimos and pulling off his Executions once in a while in the arcades. A decent 3D fighter at the time.
Al Rashids fatality was the best.
1:56 That "hee-ya" was taken right out of MK1
That killing music is badass.
I agree
very underated game, i wish i knew about this game when i had my N64
We did tournaments of this game back in the day. I played Hell knight.
Some of the sound designs for these executions are lacking. Some of them sound like they’re making as much impact as a gentle knock on someone’s front door.
I remember the Al Rashid one, it was badass
His was my favorite, executioner was good too mostly for its simplicity, didn't need anything fancy.
3:18 Jax will be so proud!
My fav game on n64, it was so ahead of its time imo, great combos and graphics
Used to adore this game, as a kid it took me like a week to figure out and perform Taria's fatality to get Pojo
I was all about Lord Deimos and his brutality. Even took that name for a while whenever I needed a name for games and such. I only ever played it in the arcades though, and sadly I didn't know it existed on N64 until long after that system's lifespan.
man graphically this game shits all over MK4. I wish it ran on this engine. But at least MK4 was fast paced
Hipster Black Metal
But in some ways, MOTA and War Gods were better, also the OST was cooler

@@dkrbk I'm talking about the arcade version of Tekken 3. Only the console version has background images.
3:36 - Carrying the enemy is an execution?! XD
***** Pojo is what later, across the ages, thru the legends, came to be known as Draghi.
XD
Fajanta Yeah He Drop Yo Ass
Fajanta When He Leave Stage
Well he's drop his opponent from a great height.
Discovered this on a family holiday in Ibiza on arcade in hotel bk in 98, needless to say I didn’t see a lot of sun, bought it straight away when back so underrated
This game deserves a reboot, likely Killer Instinct
I'd buy it.
Fernando Mahuzier ikr
love the fatality theme!!
love lord deimos :3
Are we going to talk about how tame Namira's fatality is, even by "Mortal Kombat" standards?
its not about what she does here.....its about later
And another fighting game I never knew existed lol. This one is pretty fucking dope though, wish I could've played it.
A little late but I owned this baby and it was fantastic.
This game was freaking insane back in the day. I remember the subwoofers in this game took over the whole arcade. Whenever anyone performed an execution, everyone came running to see it xD
nizamm
I love the execution, it was Mortal Kombat but better fatalities. More bloody and realistic.
It was fun to rent, from Blockbuster. My friend and I junked out on this in a hotel room, while his mom banged her boyfriend (in a separate room).
I like Midway games, but this is one of the few games that failed, just to consider why it was better than the MK4 released in the same year!!
Don't you love watching a brutal murder but it is quickly followed up with a whimsical sound effect with the word "EXECUTION!" attached to it?
First time I see Pojo fatality lol :D

+AAIIGI92 It came out for Nintendo 64 in 1997.
James Ignatius Heh, I still have the N64 actually, but this game may be quite expensive though...
I looked it up on ebay. A loose cartridge goes form 10 - 35 $ US. More for a sealed copy though

The two swords guy is always the best one!
There may be kills in mortal Kombat but c'mon who doesn't love fatalities in other classic and modern games such as this
I'm In Need for a Midway Fix lol
To this day, still think Lord Deimos is one of the coolest villains in a fighting game. Man he's awesome.
I remember this
never felt so magical in this execution
Played this shit all the time back in the day!
Man, I didn't know this game existed. I wish i played it back then.😅
I played a lot this game, one of the best Nintendo 64 games.
+PanamericanistaM0R3Na mortal kombat came out in 93 i think.

Had this for n64 loved it
3:25 Fore!
Even though I wasn't able to do the fatalities I still enjoyed this game
Taria sounded like Pagan from war gods
The soundtrack of the executions is hideous, to give nightmares!!!
Bass sound*.....

i remember you had to unlock gar somehow
Yeah, I'm not sure about the arcade version but on the N64 if you spun the joystick clockwise on the violence warning screen you unlock Gar and Ichiro.
Ken S. Who was gar
And for grendal push the c button down And A
ot they should one of these characters remade as a dlc in mortal kombat 11 kombat 3 pack if ed boon puts out a kombat 3 pack 🤞🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gar and Pojo?! I never saw these!!
Wth these graphics are insanely good
I wanted to buy KI Gold, but I couldn't find it in the shop in 1997, I was lucky I got this, it was the best fighting game on N64
thats cool i didnt know a plain old java object was in the game
One of the best games with war gods, they dont need to hate mortal kombat
3:33 Amazing.
I need a remake on this game man!!
the third one kinda reminded me of melina from mk9
This was cheesy fun as a kid
Amazing kill
Loved that game on N64
Mordos Kull
Matt and Woolie was here
POJO
Hell it's even sillier than I remember.
Si no fuera por la gran proliferacion de este tipo de juegos en la epoca, mtda seria un exitazo...
I'm 27 now I played this game when I was younger and my mind is fucked up
2:09 Did he just thrust his red pulsating pole into her....?! VAJTALITY!!!
ok, the 1st 2 fatalies looks baddas
Las Ejecuciones de Mordos, Takeshi, Rashid, Ragnar, Hellknight y Dregan son mis favoritas
PÚDRETE
You could say that Hellknight was... Eggxecuted.
Awesome how come I never heard of this game
Such a cool game
I remember watching this years ago and remember Namira and Taria having the worst finishers.
Koyasha's fatality is a straight ripoff of Mileena from Mortal Kombat 2.
Interesting..
(Sees Gar)
SOLD!
Lord Deimos,Al Rashid and Gar were the best ones.
Well does the chicken drop it's victim? It ends showing it just flying 🙄
