Sir. Pivotal I don't believe is the word for it. Things would be soooo messed up right now had the Union pulled it out. They may have very well lost the war. And that would of in my opinion destroyed our country. For the slaves sakes and our country as a whole. I'm glad we won.
@@christopherhughes5729 I think what he means by pivotal, and Frank, correct me if I’m wrong, he meant that this was the point that the Union won the battle and saved the country from being destroyed. Again, correct me if my assumption is incorrect. And I agree that July 3, 1863 was pivotal in the war. It definitely was for the battle.
@@christopherhughes5729 I support the South and North as my family fought on both sides but I'd be glad to fight for the union if california or some other socialist state wants to secede.
@@christopherhughes5729 just for another war over states rights and the right to live how we choose. The wrong side won and if you believe this was over slavery you might want to brush up on some real history.
You got that right. The heat wasn't so bad but that humidity was tough. We didn't leave until Monday and when we got back to camp, I pulled off the shirt I had worn during the battle and hung it in a tree. By the next morning, it was still wet!
@@ageingviking5587 I couldn't have said it better. When I got home, my clothes I wore had the left my sweatty gym clothes in the locker all summer smell!
I'se thar up offen Table Rock Rd. It were smoky, but to me busting caps on bluebellies on thar on ground were a hoot. We were portraying the 5th Louisiana lnfantry, and l'se born in Shreveport. But l'se made and raised in Harris Co. Texas. After about halfway l made out like l'se wounded, and shook my fist while going to the rear.l did feign my wound and shot off a couple of rounds. Thank you. Article V, Convention of States...the Framers put it in our Constitution to avoid war when dealing with Tyrants taking control of our Govt. Had Lincoln encouraged Article V, the lives of 700 thousand Americans, many of them teenaged boys, may not have been lost. Mark Levin's book, THE LIBERTY AMENDMENTS, tells all about it.

Thanks for sharing the most pivotable day in American history.

Thank you so very much for this wonderful video. I love it so much...
This was a good event I was there but on the Union side. The Johnny were magnificent! 😊
Hi Joseph! I was one of those Johnnies in the 26th N.C. and you guys were awesome!😁
Yes. I believe we all were magnificent. And it was humid but for the love of the hobby we will keep it alive. 🇺🇸
As a Johnny, I felt so welcomed by you Yanks at the wall. We all hugged and shook hands. It was beautiful and wholesome.
We were there too . Great time was had by all . The olny bad part was that it was so humid that we were pickling in our own juices LOL

This does look real .but I'm so glad I saw the power lines.
Just pretend they were a actual thing during the war 😉
The power lines kinda ruin it for me .
clearly you werent't actually there in 1863. smh

how about the big reeenactments (like Manassas 150th) that have announcers on speakers for the audience to listen to play-by-plays... awful, smh.

@@carywest9256 No. He's just spewing right wing horseshit.
How many took part in this reenactment?
Of course the one year I couldn’t make it was the biggest year
And what the heck was that supposed to be coming from that one Rebel retreating?? A Rebel Yell? A girlish scream? 😆
Google '"Wilhelm scream"
Pvt. J, 8th Louisiana, Franklin Sharpshooters with my husband were there & so were 5 of my ancestors! I'm a woman who went to war.
