Challenging stereotypes: women in monetary policy

Monetary policy is a field of economics where women are traditionally underrepresented.
While this situation is slowly improving, much more can be done. Female role models can inspire women to pursue a career in monetary policy and achieve better gender balance in this field.
To mark International Women’s Day, we spoke with top women economists who work in euro area central banks to learn more about their experiences. We also asked for the advice they would give to women interested in building a professional path in economics.
