I can’t believe how young they look. So they stopped working in their mid 40s which was either 6 or 10 years ago, can’t remember anymore, but anyhow...let’s say 6 which means they are both at least 50! WT....? I’m in my mid 40s and people always say that I look super young and generally people look older than they are. Trust me, I know... my job requires a good age recognition...Sandi looks super young, easy 10 years younger...the only thing that gives away Karstens 40+ years is his greyish hair, other than that I’m impressed...but damn they are living their best lives! Congrats!

American English is my native language, but I am multilingual, so I know the difficultly of learning other languages and their unique idioms. I must applaud this couple's linguistic talents. They've obviously put a lot of work into communicating well.
I (Sandie) was born in the USA. My dad was in the army and we lived in many different places. When I was still very young we moved first to France and then to Germany. So somehow I can communicate in three languages ... but I have an accent in every language 😬
Sandie, I was not surprised by your command of English as much as your husband. I could tell you had more English background. Your husband only had one minor grammatical error in his speech, which I heard. His accent might be German, but it has Southwestern US baroque. You sound practically Californian, Sandie. I could hear hints of German inflections, but you definitely speak English fluently and naturally for someone with a mixed linguistic background. I have a little bit of a mix, myself. My mom's native language is Filipino. My paternal grandmother spoke fluent Gaelic. I speak both, but not quite as well as English. My Gaelic is barely comprehensible, and growing up with older dialects, I struggle to keep up in conversations in modern Filipino, at times. I honestly speak better Spanish, because I work with several Latinos, and I use Spanish almost as much as English.
The vehcle seems almost a wheeled tank, intimidating to a post-tent camper like me! Karsten & Sandie are the story for me. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!! this is exactly what i'm doing and I haven't found anyone else who has used this platform so I have been extremely anxious. I'm using a vehicle designed in the 50s and 60s, 4x4, and barely goes 50 to 55. I haven't been able to test it with appropriate size tires in a safe configuration, so it's been causing constant doubt in the back of my mind. I can put on taller tires to increase the mph but i'm still stuck on restoring the brakes. I even wanted to have the bed elevated with outside access storage underneath exactly like he built, throw a collaspable stretcher in there! Thank you for creating and thank you for producing the video!! So excited now. Immediately subscribed.

We go with ferries and cargo ships. Usually we go on the ship as well. When we shipped Ewald from Germany to Canada we were also on the cargo ship. It took 2 weeks and we had a great time.
@2egit64, We traveled Nicaragua-to-Venezuela with our ExpeditionVehicle on a cargo ship. Waiting for the ship for a month in lovely Central America was a delightful vacation from our vacation...
Believe it or not, this kind of truck is still being built as new in Iran in 3 verity of 3ton, 5 ton and 10 ton. I always seen them but never think of them as mobile homes! Such a great idea
If you love sharks then consider Australia. We have the Great White Shark down in the Great Australian Bite area. They are magnificent and fierce, you wouldn't want to swim with them. They are not friendly. However if considering Australia look into how difficult or easy it may be to get Ewald here. With our strict quarantine laws Ewald would have to be completely washed over to free him from seeds, parasites, dirt, leaves etc. that he could have collected from around the world. It can be done but how much and how and where might need planning but I guess you know all this anyway. I wish you the very best with all your travels. Ewald is really nice. I love the stove, sink area.
