I too used to use those style of fishing gloves, but my local fly shop owner gently educated me on their destruction of fish slime. Glad to See Kelley didn't use those types of gloves. Great video as always, Todd!
Thanks for watching. I agree with you. We’ve never used gloves, but I’ve been around plenty guides that still use them for some reason. Appreciate the comment.
@@CatchMagazine Guides make their livings with their hands. Wearing something to protect them, ease aches, and keep them warm enough to tie knots in high wind just makes sense. No one wants claw hands from rowing all day. They also protect you from the sun, rocks, and fish spines/teeth. Even just a rogue bluegill or bass spine can give a nasty infection, and sunburn’s no joke. We enthusiasts can get by, but guiding is fishing at a different scale (pardon the pun).
@@mungobaggins8197 Im going to have to respectfully disagree. lf you are a guide, and you know that using the gloves damages the fish, then that is unbelievably selfish to use them. Especially given the amount of fish you would be handling if you do this for a living. Knowing that its harmful, its extremely disrespectful and weak to the fish/environment that we are supposed to be protecting. Maybe learn how to handle the fish, instead of damaging every single one you touch so you can have "a fun day on the water". lve been fishing my whole life, and lve never been hurt by a fish. From small brook trout, to 60 lb cobias, you can handle a fish safely. lf you cant do that, you shouldnt take your inexperience/cowardice out on wildlife. Also, l enjoyed this video VERY much. Keep up the great content! lm heading out to Colorado for an elk hunt this year, and looking forward to doing some fishing out there as well. Once again, thank you for such a fun and informative video! Very easy to hit the subscribe button after watching!
Anticipating and Expecting nothing less, I'll keep it short and to the point; Wow! More than ever, I want to be there. Another, great job, Todd. Thank you.
When I watch your films I find and lose myself..your work inspires quite a range of emotions. This one in particular..John Denver...I will be walking down the aisle this Saturday to his music. This June my brothers and I are back packing into the John Muir Wilderness for Golden and Brook Trout. Where were going is the same place I will rest when that time comes. I bet your one hell of a character...one to ride the river with.
@Catch Magazine-Todd Moen, another spectacular video. Thanks for keeping the content coming. When I need a dose of the outdoors, I can count on you when I can’t get out on my own.
I've watched every video of yours that I can find, some numerous times. They are always incredible, the best out there in my opinion. I was really happy to find this new one tonight. Excellent video work, great story, and beautiful scenery and trout. Thanks!
What a Beautiful video! what a great representation of our beautiful Waters! As a semi native😁 and avid flyfisher this one got my heart pumping. the angler did a great job, casting into those tight spots is not easy! Beautiful scenery great fish and cute gals what else could you ask for! Thanks Todd👍 Tom in Colorado
Awesome video. It was fun watching this one in particular as I was raised in Colorado. Well done. Thank you for sharing. PS. Please make videos more often
I live in Colorado Springs for 5 years. I frequently hit the South Platt almost weekly in any season and quickly became and expert angler. We are absolutely spoiled out there. Going to be in Japan for many years to come and try and see if I can get into some trout up north. Catch magazine should come out and film!!!
Nice! We float those flat bottom here on the Eel river in SoHum. A couple salmon varieties none of the stunning cutthroat. But if you're lucky to hook one, a fiesty steelhead are sure to give you that "fish-on" rush! Nothing compares to trout fishing on the river. Unless its trout fishing in the tributary creek feeding into that river.
Trifecta! Colorado Rockies, wild cutthroat trout and John Denver. Thank you.
