I listened to the entire series on Lu Xun and appreciated it! I heard of Lu Xun long before I read him, where I began with his essays. He was not the "voice of China" to me since I didn't know any other modern Chinese writers. It was disappointing to hear the professor downgrade the Lovell translation, it was the collection of Lu Xun's short fiction I used. Here I thought I had a bunch of expertly translated stories in a cool looking Penguin Classics paperback.
