#1 tip, get a box of sisters novitiates, it comes with all sorts of little bits for Kill Team that you can use to kitbash all the minor generic characters (hospitaller, dogmata, etc) on top of having 10 very useful bodies (85 points for 10x OC2 ladies as of the index, and they gain infiltrate with the codex)
That's a cool idea, I think I'd heard that one talked about before and should have thought to include it here - will make a note of it for future vids if I cycle back to the subject!
Good to see Christian got a shout out, especially from you auspex. He does really good detailed looks on both Sisters of battle and Genestealers, very informative about how the factions play, also deathwatch too which is cool to hear I play none of these but he's still good to just watch/listen to He's good and I like him- though I did just start watching him.
I ❤ the sisters of battle. Definitely one of the coolest armies in all tabletop gaming. I personally love their game play of hitting hard but having to be careful as you're not that tough. Always leads to a good game. Video is amazing
The best part of playing sisters is that you can pick just about any model in the codex and use it effectively in the game. Of course this makes picking models so much more difficult…

Was very pleased to have old-ass Dialogus and Hospitaler so I didnt have to pay ...what? 30€ for a single 30pts modell? I should realy get one of those new fancy Immolators tho. So pretty!
You don't buy a Dialogus or Hospitaller. You buy a Novitiates box and use the extra arm parts inside to turn spare Battle Sister bodies into the Dialogus, Hospitaller, and Dogmata.
If you can, pick up one (or two) of the previous SoB combat patrol boxes before they are gone for good (I stocked up as soon as I heard it was going away). It contains a much more rounded assortment of models (including a SoB Rhino), even if they are mono-pose.
I think the biggest issue with the old box is the danger of GW culling the option to field 3 flagellants or just 5 repentia... even with 2 boxes you end up not having enough if they do the 10th thing of forcing you to play full units of 10 (because we apparently can not count and add up points for individual models - thank you GW for saving us from math). I wouldn't use this argument against my opponent, but people are a bit 'match play'-rules focused in some places.

On the 2000 pt army, I just noticed something that might confuse a "newb". For the Battle Sisters, they can take the multi melta but it's not in the box. you can make one from extra melta's and the hvy flamer easy enough, but still might be confusing.
I tried to start a Sister's army with the Old combat patrol But I learned quite quickly that my Painting Skills where not up to the standard That Sister's require.

Thank for this, Personally i wanted to go mechanized but for some reason Triumph can't get into a rhino. So I guess i am going army of faith with st.kath and give all rapid fire weapons (including plasma combi) a +1 to attack and just move in a slow blob) then use jumpers to harass enemy lines and take objectives. Badically going to run with 2 hospitaliers for survivability
Triumph no longer grants +1A to Rapid Fire guns. It now grants a miracle die per battle round that's always a 6, and two of the following: a) +2" move, +1" adv +1" charge b) reroll battleshock c) can use 2 miracles per phase. Pointless in Army of Faith. d) reroll 1s for wound for guns e) 6+ FNP f) +1AP in melee Hospitallers also don't have a character healing aura. Instead they resurrect models in their unit.
The flame detachment is looking interesting. Basically, how I ran my hallowed index already. Not a fan of the priests, arcos, or penitents. To me, they just don't fit, so wouldn't mind seeing them go in exchange for another battleline unit.
Sisters are awesome. Great divers range to paint in different styles, fun army in general, but my god are they expensive. As someone that likes to play a different army every game…. Incredible cost. And tiny minis with detail are not easy to paint
Dont like the repentia and arco flagellant kits, so I do the Sisters of Slaughter conversions for both. I'm still trying to figure out how to turn the Repentia bodies into Novitiates though.
Just picked up a Sisters' army myself. First I was just looking for some odd 500 points, but models are great to paint, rules are fun and the whole thing has so much flair. Sadly its just a premium cost faction in real-life money so beginners be warned.

I don’t envy anyone who is starting a Battle Sisters army today because both the new Battleforce and Combat Patrol boxes are inferior to past versions. The Sanctorum Guard BF box was great, having Morven Vahl and 6 Paragon Warsuits. The new BF has too many Jump Pack units to have wide appeal, but at least the Exorcist is a good value. The 9e Adepta Sororitas Combat Patrol had a diverse selection of units, but admittedly less appeal for multiple purchases compared to the Genestealer Cults Combat Patrol (I purchased 3 of the latter). The new CP box has less variety and no “centrepiece” units, like the Rhino and Penitent Engine from the previous version. Adepta Sororitas could benefit from a character bundle box, similar to the GSC’s Broodcoven, because collecting all of the characters is inconvenient and ridiculously expensive.
Most Sisters models are just a woman in power armour with varying levels of decoration. They can be kitbashed. Novitiates arms + Battle Sisters bodies = Hospitaller, Dialogus, Dogmata Sisters simulacrum bearer + statue from the back of an Immolator = Imagifier Sister + Plasma Pistol + Powersword + Decorations = Palatine Canoness + Zephyrim backpack + Sacresants parts = Jump Canoness

A partial kit of Battle Sisters could only be used for model variety; meaning that rather than magnetizing the arms and weapons, you equip the special and heavy weapons to a different model and use them in another squad of 10. Buying an extra Novitiates KT box and a Battle Sisters box for $50 each to kitbash 3 characters worth $30 each doesn’t add up. Also, kitbashing is only viable for experienced model makers; it’s not really an option for a player STARTING a new army. Assembling and painting a new army can be daunting enough without the added stress of kitbashing models without ruining them and having to spend more money to replace them and try again.

They're superfluous if you build the Novitiates for 40k. If you build the Hospitaller, Dialogus, Dogmata, Imagifier and Palatine as I described, it's well worth the sacrifice of a Battle Sisters box. The remaining Battle Sisters can be used for extra flamers and meltaguns so you can run other Battle Sister squads as Dominions, or for alternate loadouts for Sisters Superior. For the most part, Sisters conversions are just about swapping arms and adding decorative bits. Biggest worry is making sure the sleeves don't defy gravity.

Really tempted by the sisters but curious if any sister players could answer, Are special characters mandatory? some factions really focus of their use which I dislike. I miss the day of creating your own warlord with warlord traits/wargear.
It kinda depends on how you build your army. During Index you could skip the special characters if you wanted too BUT if you wanted a character to lead your Warsuits you're stuck with Morven Vahl as she's the only option. Though with the new rule they got it might be feasible to run them without her.
Vahlgons are very strong but some very high level sisters players prefer to play without them since they are pretty telegraphed and easy to play around and she is as close to an 'autotake' as you'll find in the book all the sisters named characters are good but none are mandatory. each detachment has some good enhancements for them as well
@@fistimusmaximus6576 You're going to have a hard time playing without Epic Heroes like Vahl, Celestine or Saint Katherine. The last two are one of the best looking and recognisable models in our range

It isn't hard to find way better models than GW for less. GW is outrageously over priced. For fractions of the price of an army you can get a 3d printer and have a more original army than anyone who bought from GW. One of the golden demon winners was like half printed and GW published a mostly printed army in white dwarf cuz they couldn't tell the difference. So please tell me one thing GW actually has to offer aside from pandering to culture war crap and charging WAY too much cuz that's all they seem to do.

Good job avoiding most my points have fun spending too much on subpar models and all the other shit that comes with GW. Be a good little pay pig it doesn't effect me or my hobby. GW can't/won't complete with 3D printing. They didn't even show models at adepticon cuz everyone woulda just went home and made what they saw. I do hate GW and glad they can't keep up with printers, and will take every opportunity to shit on the, give people printed armies for dead cheap, and laugh at GW as they continue to just tank themselves. I genuinely hope they go so broke they have to go back to the GW of 10-15 years ago and just flat out no longer exist. So riddle me this why would someone buy a 2k point army when they can buy a printer, the resin, and all the safety stuff, and still be under the cost of the army? You'd have to be dumb.
The problem is that this codex is only going to be valid for about six months as 11th edition will be out this time next year rendering it obsolete. Imo this whole 2 Yr rules/ Edition change stuff ruins 40k as you barely have time to build or get a true feel for the army before they change the rules and you have to start all over again.
@Krachbumm-Ente the only reason 9th Ed lasted 3 yrs is because of the pandemic, i hate to say it and I hope I'm just being cynical but i reckon 11th edition will be announced for about the 3rd quarter next year. Once upon a time editions used to last 4+ yrs, but that changed with 6th ed.

All Adepta Sororitas units have their use tbh. I think both boxes are worth it if you don't already have the models

@@Krachbumm-Ente the game isn't balanced. Calling Warhammer balanced is a mindless take. The new sisters look like they've been smoking since birth. It isn't hard to find way better models than GW for less. GW is outrageously over priced. For fractions of the price of an army you can get a 3d printer and have a more original army than anyone who bought from GW.
One of the golden demon winners was like half printed and GW published a mostly printed army in white dwarf cuz they couldn't tell the difference. So please tell me one thing GW actually has to offer aside from pandering to culture war crap and charging WAY too much cuz that's all they seem to do.
@@embearasedbear3694 Almost all armies are in the 45-55% winrate range and those that aren't get either buffed or nerfed every 3 months. You clearly have a hate boner for this company and I don't see why anyone should care about what you have to say about anything really
@@Krachbumm-Ente maybe, they balanced it after years and years of it being a total shit show. Doubt it, but I'm not looking into it. Good job avoiding most my points have fun spending too much on subpar models and all the other shit that comes with GW. Be a good little pay pig it doesn't effect me or my hobby.
GW can't/won't complete with 3D printing. They didn't even show models at adepticon cuz everyone woulda just went home and made what they saw.
I do hate GW and glad they can't keep up with printers, and will take every opportunity to shit on the, give people printed armies for dead cheap, and laugh at GW as they continue to just tank themselves. I genuinely hope they go so broke they have to go back to the GW of 10-15 years ago and just flat out no longer exist.
So riddle me this why would someone buy a 2k point army when they can buy a printer, the resin, and all the safety stuff, and still be under the cost of the army? You'd have to be dumb.

The problem is that this codex is only going to be valid for about six months as 11th edition will be out this time next year rendering it obsolete. Imo this whole 2 Yr rules/ Edition change stuff ruins 40k as you barely have time to build or get a true feel for the army before they change the rules and you have to start all over again.
Last edition lasted for 3 years. What makes you think 10th (which just has started) will only last for 1,5 years? That's a wild claim
@Krachbumm-Ente the only reason 9th Ed lasted 3 yrs is because of the pandemic, i hate to say it and I hope I'm just being cynical but i reckon 11th edition will be announced for about the 3rd quarter next year. Once upon a time editions used to last 4+ yrs, but that changed with 6th ed.
