If I want to feel melancholy I'll listen to the original, it's beautifully done. But if I want to feel something on a deep and personal level I'll listen to Jonathan's. BEAUTIFUL COVER of a wonderful piece of music.

Jonathan’s performance and vocal delivery of this song brings tears and gives me full on body chills every single time I listen to it.
The pain and anger expressed though the gentleness of pure love is so powerful and leaves me utterly speechless.
It’s like you said, Dave, the emotion is “hard to bear but, “we have to endure” the epicness. It’s just so torturous, I literally have to remember to breathe as I’m listening.
The song is truly next level and I just wanted to thank you so much for reacting to this Dave.

Yes! Exactly! I love that Jonathan consistently brings his A game to songs. It never feels like he's just going through the motions or half butt doing it. He loves music and I love his music

Cole Rolland is such a beast I've been watching his stuff for years. Every time he plays you can tell the man puts his all into it while making it look effortless.

I will perioidically scroll through your videos Dave. Finding the Sabaton songs, the Fabvl songs the Divide Music and DPS, but this song I constantly go back to. Even though it hasn't been a month since you reacted to this I've seen it so many times. Such a good song and reaction!

Awesome reaction, Dave! This song is great, but I'm super eager for the album of original music he's working on. From what I've heard on his Twitch streams, it's going to be absolutely EPIC!

The original was almost gentle and almost sounded resigned, like the person is resigned to their fate and while they lament it, they will walk embrace it.
This one feels so raw and visceral by comparison, it brings a whole new layer of energy to the song without changing its meaning.

How could you not loose you're shit listening to this? Fucking epic!!!! Like this better than the original. Stings voice is great but in my opinion sounds to soft for this song. Jonathan knocks it put of the park with his grit and Coles guitar playing. Beautiful performance.

I can’t seem to find a reaction to it, I assume that means you reacted to it on your own time. If you have the time, I hope you are able to react to season 2 when it comes out!

@@EmbracedDestiny yeah I watched it off screen. I don’t usually do reactions to tv shows due to copyright. There’s a lot of maneuvering you have to do to avoid it, that I don’t have time for.

    • @perrycarters3113

It probably wouldn't quite fit. This one is much angrier and more visceral and almost triumphant in how raw it is, while the original is more like a lamentation of the way things are now and, fittingly enough, what could have been.
The original is a song that feels like a grim, resigned determination born of tragedy, lamenting the way things 'have to be' now.
This version is more akin to a declaration of rage and almost a promise of retribution or show of anger. It still has a ring of lamentation to it, but it's less "I know what I have to do now," and more "I didn't want to do this, but you pushed me too far."
