Having a backup boat is awesome. It’s even cooler when you know a decision you made as a teenager is still benefiting you and your viewers decades later.
Amazing another uncut LOVE it. Kev you can be on a paddle board and I will still watch you fish your way of fishing made me fall in love in fishing hard core.
One of these days, you gotta sell the rivited Hull and build a welded jon boat with me. You'll love it and it'll last 50 years. You can give it to your daughter one day!
I feel your pain! I just had my 150 Yamaha pro V throw a rod on cylinder 4 and had to get it rebuilt! and that motor is a 95! I droped 3k on a rebuild. But right side is I didn’t drop used car money on an outboard for a new fourstroke! Love the videos I have learned a lot on how to fish the title areas around Hampton Roads from your videos! Keep up the good work man! And I love your set up on your John boat!
What date are you fishing, I know where you are but what day is it just a reminder you need to do stop and go when you’re cranking in your retrieve I know that it be better to do that
Optimax motors have a great oiling system with an electric pump that distributes oil around the motor and several fail safes built into that system. They almost never fail from oiling issues. Most likely in your case a clogged injector leaned out a cylinder. That's why it is important on those motors to change the fuel filter and drain the water seperator once a year and always run the Mercury quick clean fuel additive in every tank.
I run Lucus injector cleaner in every tank. I change my fuel filter every spring, when I change my plugs and lower unit oil. They called me and said the pistion wall on the top cylinder was in bad shape, and the powerhead was shot. I think they said something happened to the compressor, and that clogged the injector. Im not 100% sure tho
Really enjoy the uncut river videos. You need to hit the Roanoke River again. It can fish pretty strong during the colder months.
I really do. That place has some bigs!

@GunnFishTV That's possible, got to make sure to clean the compressor water strainer every year as well.
