@meshackgaolathe6492 I agree with your comment. COBOL, which stands for Common Business-Oriented Language, is indeed well-suited for business applications. Its syntax is designed to be readable and self-documenting, making it easier to maintain and understand. This is particularly beneficial in a business setting where clarity and maintainability are key. I was an Instructor for a Tech School in Santa Ana, El Salvador back in 1992 to 1995. I know how to program in COBOL-RM/86. But I don't understand why it is still in use. I know how to program in other languages like JavaScript, Python, C, C++,C#, Ruby, HTML. CSS. They all do the same job as COBOL with less code and some of them faster execution without having to compile the code.
Please help me to use simple beep() and screenclear() in simple basic COBOL program such as 'Hello World'. I'm a beginner, and just want to try fun stuff in COBOL!

COBOL is actually a good programming language for business applications. It’s very easy to read and decipher

Easy to read, but writing it wears your fingers out.
Very poor flow control & data scoping, in older versions at least.

Why do you have the same videos uploaded more than once but renamed? It makes it very confusing to navigate your channel.
