You can dump logs and then use Rexx/Sort utility, etc. to extract specific lines. For email, you need to check with your system admin because every shop has a different setup. You can use z/OS SMTP, JES2Mail, etc. to send email but that depends on your shop. Actually I stop working from 1999 after I left Saudi as a vs COBOL programmer in Wang vs 80 machine.
Till now I am not in IT, i am doing a small business in my native. Since two months i am reading IBM mainframe z/OS, ISPF, JCL by referring IBM mainframe tutorials.
For reference i went thru your class and i understood, and i hope I can rejoin to continue my carrier.

Thanks for your comment. You can create a temporary dataset by specifying "&&" after the DSN keyword. For example DSNAME=&&dsname,DISP=(NEW,PASS).
