    Is there any way we can keep the stories in a separate video and let Dr. Gordon explain the importance of the Hebrew gospel of Matthew? It demands so much time. Keith is a great man and full of great stories but the greater importance is Nehemia's time. Thank you so much! I appreciate you both putting these series together.

    I absolutely admire and appreciate both of you scholars of God's word, the fact that common ground that you have bravely found through trust and sincerity gone past those boundaries that first allowed your friendship to along with each other to study as you have, this in a way those boundaries were from other people's fears that today q much greater understanding beyond fears boundaries as true scholars have the very spirit of God revealing the deeper truths of righteous learning in its totality that only the creator could bring to our human understanding. My example is from Abraham with Isaac to Moses on the Mt. And the many prophets Daniel and Isaiah to David in the psalms all brought together in Yeshuas own words I say his Jewish traditions and faith that Karite he obviously is is the true heart of the father all circles around and as it's has been ment to be from the fathervof many nations like what 5 to 6000 years ago that glory is God's and not 1 dot or tiddle will not be removed but completely fullfilled and his promises are real he keep his word and maintains the integrity that only God himself would will into being.

    One of the things that you hear about christians is all they want to do is ‘convert’ you. Today when reading the Parable of the Sower more closely that word jumped out at me because that topic of conversion was talked about again in the most recent Hebrew Gospel Pearls episode. I thought I knew what that word meant, as used in the King James Version, as being changed from one thing to another. I looked at the greek and saw that as used here it meant ‘return’. Of course I made the leap to the Hebrew word ‘shuv’ (return, turn back) and wondered what was the wording in the George Howard Version of Hebrew Matthew. I was disappointed that not only is it not there but the phrase ‘and be converted’ was not there in either the English or Hebrew sides.
    I can only speculate but from the critical apparatus remarks some manuscripts had omissions in this verse as compared to other Shem Tob manuscripts. This let’s open the door that in the other manuscripts that Nehemia uncovered there may contain the Hebrew reading with ’shub’ (return) in the place of ‘converted’.
    I am sure that by Hebrew Gospel Pearls ep. 150 you will dive deep into this part of Matthew 13.
    Thank you brothers.

    Hi Nehemiah, why does Rabbi Tuvia Singer constantly claim that Matthew & the rest of the New Testament is loaded with errors? Even though Dr Michael Brown has dismantled his arguments many times in the past. Have you ever thought about debating him or addressing his attacks on Christians & Messianic Jews?

    • @Theravadadann
      @Theravadadann 2 года назад

      I can answer that question quite easily because I have watched and investigated what Rabbi Singer has said. Here is an example of a question I have found since this study has opened my eyes.
      I know this question may cause some distress but I would really like to know the answer. With the Jewish Passover approaching I think it is the right time. OK HERE GOES:
      So if you believe John 19:13-16. Jesus died noon on the preparation day before Passover:
      13 When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement (which in Aramaic is Gabbatha). 14 It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon.
      “Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.
      15 But they shouted, “Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!”
      “Shall I crucify your king?” Pilate asked.
      “We have no king but Caesar,” the chief priests answered.
      16 Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.
      If you believe Mark 14:12-18 Jesus ate the Passover meal and was arrested the next day.
      12 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
      13 So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14 Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”
      16 The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
      17 When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18 While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me-one who is eating with me.”
      Which story is true and which is a lie? He either was alive to eat Passover or he was already dead and in the tomb. Which is true; which is a lie?
      I just posted this on Facebooking. Tovia says these things because he is speaking the truth. After you explain to the the answer to this question I will continue to ask questions of you

    • @mjolnir9855
      @mjolnir9855 2 года назад

      @@Theravadadann They "prepared the passover" for the master, but did they actually EAT the passover? They "prepared the passover" could merely mean they prepared the room for the Passover and feast of unleavened bread. Jesus did say, "with great anticipation I have desired to eat this passover with you." But did He? Did Jesus eat the passover, or were they merely preparing for the passover, and eating a regular meal of LEAVENED bread in order to get rid of the remnants of the leavened bread before the passover day came? After all, if it was the eve of the Passover, then they were truly preparing the passover when they made preparations for the celebration, but did they actually eat the passover with Jesus?

    • @Theravadadann
      @Theravadadann 2 года назад

      @@mjolnir9855 all you have to go on is what verse 17 actually says. Since you obviously overlooked that verse I well separate it for you so it will be simpler:
      16 The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
      17 When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18 While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me-one who is eating with me.”
      I added 16 so you could see the order that after preparation, when evening came, I take for granted you understand that the Hebrew day starts at sunset. It couldn’t be more plain. No please answer my question

    • @Theravadadann
      @Theravadadann 2 года назад

      @UCiYdnSMzgXRZpgqfYwvfi6A I may have given you more credit than I should. The lamb is sacrificed about 3pm just before the end of the preparation day. 6pm or sunset begins the week of unleavened bread and it is when the Seder is eaten. There is no maybe or if. 6pm is the time of Passover. In Matthew Mark And Luke it references eating that Seder. In John it says he was already dead. Earlier in Mark it mentions NOT arresting him before the meal as to not start a riot. So one last time which is true, which is the lie

    • @mjolnir9855
      @mjolnir9855 2 года назад +1

      Mark 14:12 says "And the first day of unleavened bread, WHEN THEY KILLED THE PASSOVER..."
      According to the Torah, on the evening before Passover, the Lamb is killed. Then when the sun goes down (thus starting the next day, because "the evening and morning were the first day") then the first day of unleavened bread begins. You eat the Passover lamb, on the first day of unleavened bread, which is also a Sabbath. For 6 more days, you eat unleavened bread (7 days total). The feast of unleavened bread does not officially start until Passover day, but since the Passover lamb is killed on the PREPARATION day, a day earlier, the Preparation day is colloquially included in the "Feast of unleavened bread" because the Passover is part of the feast.
      It would seem that the "Gk: PROTOS / Prior day" of the feast of unleavened bread had come (The eve of Passover, the preparation day) once the Sun went down that evening. And from that evening to the next evening would be the preparation day - the day upon which Jesus died.
      Greek PROTOS can also mean "Chief" or even "Before" (thus the preparation day for the passover). Therefore, it is better rendered, (and agrees then with the other gospels as well), that "on the day BEFORE unleavened bread had come" or "on the chief day of the feast of unleavened bread" - which again, is to say, the day of the preparation of the passover/feast. Preparation day.
      Therefore, Jesus would have been eating up the last of the leavened bread with his disciples at the last supper. They prepared the passover room (Thus they "prepared the passover") but did not actually get to eat it with Jesus.

    Ditto to Robin Kelly Rieser. More teaching please. To Keith a question: Is it really correct to call yourself a gentile in light of Galatians 3:29. Also, there is no Hebrew word equivalent to the word gentile. It is a translators choice, used and misused for centuries, caused much confusion and in my opinion, doesn't belong in the scripture. Thank you both for all your work!

  • @dw3403

    The reason Paul was upset with Peter about the gentiles needing to be circumcised was because the circumcision was a reminder of the promise given of the son that would be in his likeness. Therefore circumcision was no longer needed because the promised one had come to redeem not only the Jews but also the gentiles. Circumcision would just become another form of works which are useless because the work God did was perfect as it was.

    Nehemiah, I would have loved to talk with you without trying to convert you.
    I would show you the text n let you read it yourself n ask you questions so I could get a better understanding of what someone who rejects Messiah thinks about the scriptures and find out why you study the NT that I believe is just the extended TaNaK of accomplishments but that He isn’t fine yet.
    I believe the Holy Days are His plan of Salvation n marriage covenant accomplishments that He will finish.
    And I would Especially love to ask you about the MAN in Judges 13.
    And compared to 1 Corinthians 10, if you would go there.
    How can christians read Hebrew 3 and 4 and not see that the covenant never changed? And that Messiah always stayed the same?
    And how can the reign with Messiah be Zachariah 16-21 if He changed everything?
    I know what some Jews believe n what Christians believe n a bit about Muslims but I believe Torah in spirit and in Truth is what Messiah preached and what all people need to focus on.
    Example: if my animal fell into your hole in America in TN, and got hurt or died, how would we take care of this? The Scripture says to restore the person, make amends, make it right cuz it was your unprotected hole that caused the dumb animal to come to harm.
    BUT by law, the animal getting out is a show of irresponsibility in the state and the person most likely will be fined and maybe even jailed. And they are out the animal that fell in the hole and may have yo pay to have the animal taken out from the hole.
    It’s a complete contradiction to the scripture. But christians would go along with satans laws rather than the laws of YHWH and use NT s rapture to obey all government laws even if they are contrary to scripture.
    I believe the a Holy Scripture are correct and would restore someone if their animal fell into my hole, but better yet, knowing this, I would protect against any dangers if I could. And if my animal fell into their hole ....because the world is demonic, I would have to take the loss and the mans laws consequences because of this shameful thing they are doing.
    I believe Messiah always existed but would like to know how a Jew escapes these scriptures of this person who accepts worship and sacrifice and seen face to face in the TaNaK.
    I believe Psalm 51 is the plan of salvation from the very beginning n never changed. Of coarse the plan n cycle is in everything and everywhere n every letter n word and it’s just all amazingly linked together.
    Much Shalom Shalom!

      I don't believe in JC, I believe in Yeshua, and I only accept, Matt.-Acts, 2Thess., and Rev. as inspired texts. There are contradictions in the Tanakh if you search for them, they are in names, they are in years, they are in the Mosaic Torah, they are in Neh.-Ezra. There are also highly prophetic statements which are clearly from God. You can only read the Tanakh in Hebrew because it is a flexible tongue. Listen to the rabbis, they tell you that how the Torah is written is abnormal/unconventional. It goes beyond variations in letters all the way to symbols. When you get to that level then you should be able to see what's really going on, but you will need Rashi, Biblical Hebrew is more complicated than they make out. Read Rab. Mordecai Schreiber's, The Man Who Knew God, he says this very thing of Isaiah, an (educated) guess. The Hebrew should be read in different ways.

He is claimed to be the "glory" of God or the "image" of God and is worshiped "with" God in heaven and seated with God. Any man that places himself with God or in between God and man as a means too God is desiring to be worshiped as God. The writers of the new testament are intending that men worship this man as being "from" God or with God in the beginning before the creation of the world. Problem is Torah makes none of these claims for the worship Of YHWH. YHWH never speaks of worship being given to any man or anything within creation as God or with God in heaven. YHWH alone is to be worshiped as God and no man who was ever born or died can be God or worshiped along side with God. That is idolatry.

    My question for Nehemia is this: Do you believe the New Testament or at least do you believe Matthew's writings? Or are you picking and choosing verses that you will concede as truth but other verses that Matthew wrote that might contradict your already preconceived theology, you have decided those passages are not true? That's what I don't understand about you all these years later. Yeshua is either truthful or He's a lunatic. His words are either a fulfillment of the Tanak's words written about Him or He's a crazy mental case. If you take the time to study, as you are doing, yet you ignore what He's actually saying and what He was actually doing in the first century, aren't you just wasting your time? You can't have it both ways. You cannot give credibility to a miracle worker who could walk on the water (tred on the waves as Job wrote of YHVH), heal the sick, give sight to the blind (as Isaiah says YHVH will do) raise people from the dead in the first century and was introduced as the Savior of the world (also as Isaiah says only YHVH is Savior), simply because His stories were written in Hebrew all the while ignoring what is revealed in those stories. That simply reveals your own stubbornness and hardness of heart ("slow and foolish to believe ALL the prophet's words").
    Yehoshua is who He said or He's a complete nut case that happened to speak Hebrew and stories happened to be written about Him in Hebrew. If the latter is what you believe, I don't know why you spend another minute on any of the NT. Is it that riding the fence as you are doing, keeps a door open to a much broader audience that does believe the NT (that audience doesn't exist among the Jewish community) and that results in a paycheck? IOW, is money (the broader audience of Christianity/Messianics/Hebrew Roots) the reason you study the Hebrew NT manuscripts but ignore the information those words communicate?

The Hebrew of today was reconstructed and is far from the original Hebrew. The church used the Greek septugiant (the most accurate translation of the old Hebrew) and the new testament was written in Greek. The new Hebrew Bible (never used by the church) was created hundreds of years after the Greek septugiant.The 12 never emphasized Hebrew (it is irrelevant). Nehemiah Gordon is a scholar. Try to see it that way. You wouldn't have a bible if it were not for scholars, who look at ALL information, not just some, in order to come to a conclusion of how to interpret. Septuagint, Masoretic AND ancient Hebrew. Your argument that the ancient Hebrew was "lost" does not hold water, in my opinion, the reason being that Hebrew was handed down orally, audibly, regardless, especially amongst the rabbis and those who have conscientiously preserved it. So it makes no difference if the letters were changed in form, the sounds are the same or similar. To prove this, take for example any modern Hebrew letter. It has an ancient Hebrew equivalent and there are ANCIENT Hebrew texts in existence that contain the Name of God YHVH, archeological findings, that prove this. No one is promoting a "Hebrew gospel". They are scholars, doing their detective work, so that YOU can have an accurate, translation of the bible. "The twelve never emphasized Hebrew": well, they didn't have to because they lived, spoke and breathed Hebrew, besides Aramaic. What remains is for us to know that and interpret correctly our current bible texts. As for the "church fathers" and "reformers", please let us not follow their errors. Let us get back as far as possible, to the original. After all, it is God's Word that we want in all it's fullness and accuracy. God bless the scholars. We need them. Many of them gave their life blood in order that you and I could have our own correct translation of the bible.

His scholarly work is not authoritative. He was not the author or primary researcher on the dead sea scrolls which he cites on his biography. I realize you want to minimize the difference between the reconstructed Hebrew and ancient Hebrew language as insignificant but that is not the case. Why is the septugiant older (3 rd century BC)than the masoretic text (written between 6 and 10th century)? For centuries Hebrew s of the time relied on the septugiant and later Christians. Somehow, Gordon and his version Hebrew/Judaism was not understood by the 70 Hebrew Scholars in Alexandria Egypt in the 3rd century BC. These Hebrew Scholars new the original Hebrew, meaning and key here context. I guess all that knowledge and body of work orally and written was passed on to the early Church (which you dismiss) and later gave us the Christian Bible new testament and the septugiant. So I apologize for dismissing Gordon's assumptions based his psuedo scholarly works. Finally, a jew or Jewish in modernity is semantics no connection to the Lavant of ancient Hebrews. All current identified Jewish populations, especially Ashkenazi, Sephardic all have European lineage. So this notion of a people who did not intermix with other people's for 2000 thousand years is fantasy. Science (DNA) proves that not to be the case or history (read Shlomo Sands Isreali historian). Why do think you have all these flavors of Jewishness, it is called converts. The Lavant was all Christian at one time. Most of those Christians converted to Islam when Islam took over the Lavant. Don't we all think that our Father spoke in Hebrew to the many who heard from Him personally? And if His whole attempt to communicate with us so that we know His instructions for life, then your conclusions about the Hebrew language are not true.
