It’s commonly found that the basal ganglia is smaller for individuals with tic disorders or toureytes. :) Tics aren’t caused by emotions or stress. But it does infact worsen it! It’s not only a child thing, it just starts around 5 years old and you have it the rest of your life :) And flicking fingers could be helpful for some people to trick their brain by doing something opposite or suppressing tics :)
