Watching you working is just wonderful! The drilling for the dowels was something that I always get wrong, but your work was perfect! It will look fabulous when you finish. In The UK you cannot have hand operated switches in a bathroom - they have to be a 'no touch' system like a string pull. The wood you used was beautiful.
