Blows my mind that a regular rifle troop can engage targets at 850m with an M16A2. Also at 2:59 the card for that infantry says that its M60 can engage at 1200m but then the cav scout card M60 can only fire out to 850m. Is this game from Eugen or Eugen's little brother?
Have to say I'm a bit disappointed with an enemy AI in the campaign. They are completely braindead and either just stand there or attack-move (or just fast move) without the slightest use of both macro and micro. You can kill three tanks in a row with a single tank of yours and they will never try to attack you at the same time, smoke themselves, fall back a bit, cover light armor with heavies or push with infantry. HQ units and AA pieces not trying to hide even a little bit... I hope it'll get fixed in future missions?

About the twist: Think of these missions as a campaign. "Lets push the soviets back even further" is just part of the story beeing told here. I would assume the next mission when released will be about Nato doing a further counteroffensive. About which is the best mission. IMO its dificult to say. all 3 you have played so far are different. This one was maneuver heavy. First one a defensive one plus quit hard because of the ranged weapons of the pact. If you do that mission on hard without knowing what will come, you will lose because you might not have the correct tools in the correct spots or didnt even bring them. (plus atgm rng). Second soviet mission is nice because of the twist and 2 fronts to hold + limited typ of units. First soviet is the weakest i think. But i think you will find out why yourselve:)
i love how you have to work with what you have. this mission teaches perfectly what tanks are good at and what not. tanks at range outside a city untill city yours. atgm longer range then tank gun
It's ok. It's hard to say it's better or worse than Wargame for me. Wargame is a game I've played for about 9 years so it feels like that perfect pair of shoes that just works. Warno hasn't reached that level yet. It's gotten a lot better over time and I do enjoy these missions/operations. If I can pick only one game to play that would still be Wargame.
argh. The AI sending AA-units to die by the guns of your Abramses - that is really bad AI. And i don't understand what could be so hard about programming that behavior. For certain unit types (AA, Arty, Logistical units), stay out of range of enemy units. At least don't charge into them.
I like it better for the most part, less cheesy strats, plus it's a bit harder. Only thing I don't like is that they didn't use the opportunity afforded by the new game to improve the balance and realism a bit.

Yeah not an ideal battlegroup for this map, which makes it a very interesting battle.

Probably due to the limitations of their map styles. It's way too small. I remember European Escalation having much bigger maps

WARNO has been such a let down compared to Red Dragon. They really dropped the ball
