chillout was the clone I played for a bit after EAC banned me for using a work around to allow for my old rift SDK to even headtrack. Eventually I learned I was unbanned and forgot about both games entirely, but glad to see that it's still getting attention
When the whole EAC thing was happening I was still really new to VR. I was doing PCVR with a mid 2015 Macbook Pro, an eGPU and a GTX 1070 and a Quest 2. It was horrible going in to VRC using that hardware (thankfully I was lucky enough to be in a position to build a dedicated VR PC since then). But I still tried Neos. Something I really REALLY liked in Neos was the fact that you could 'save' assets. So for instance that little polaroid camera in Movies & Chill in VRC? Snap a really cute pic with one of your favourite peoples on the other side of the planet? But you want to save that memory? Well.. if that camera and snapshot were in Neos you likely could have saved it and then spawned a copy of it in to your current session, any time you wanted to show someone even months later. I think about that pretty often. I didnt try out ChilloutVR but I might try it sometime! Great video!
Much appreciated! You know how much interaction means to youtubes algorithm, I really appreciate you commenting and leaving detailed thoughts! Neos has so many cool features, It's just such a hurdle for me to learn. I do have some people in the discord who are tempting me though, eventually I'll hope back in again and give it a rip!
Honestly, chilloutvr and even neos vr both have very interesting ideas compared to VRChat. They aren’t even close to the same level polish though from the times I’ve tried them though.
being part of the shift yeah a huge amount backed out of leaving vrc due to friends being on quest, so once we can all shift over I have a good feeling it'll start growing slowly sure but it'll be nice shift away from vrc corporate and tupper, plus most the vrc modding community got hired on to work for cvr turning their passionate hobbies into an actual paying job for a platform we love, cvr is basically being run by the community for the community now which is a very positive sign on what it can turn into.
There's a lot I love about it and when the quest release launches I'm sure it'll boost CVR super hard. Part of me hopes the adults who play on standalone start to choose it over VRChat, rather than CVR getting flooded with kids. The CVR devs deserve success, as far as I can tell they are just incredibly passionate people who want the best for their platform
i stopped using chillout after they all my stuff got ripped and their admin team didn't car, and neos has no out-of-vr avatar setup. its all done in vr which i aint fking with. Vrchat has already implemented all the features people used as mods once eac came out so to me its fine.
Nah you're valid. I'm a Questie and lately I've just been feeling kinda bored of being limited and the amount of kids that are on it. But I did find a bunch that are pretty chill. I only got one just cause of the lockdown lol
the game quality was made by he creators, nobody else. Thanx to quest i can enter into the vr world without saving 4 whole salaries (at least that was the case with quest 2) Assuming Quest users are all children is 1d10tic and 1gnorant.
"Chillout has a nice neat method of keeping the problem at bay. Their solution is remarkably simple"

VRCHAT kept it simple
This is such a good insight, great analysis
Wish I went a bit more in depth on stuff but wanted to make it a nice easy watch. Thank you for enjoying it!

It can get weird quick but It's fun otherwise haha
Bro Chillout is great!
I tried it out recently and my one and only problem with it is that noone is on it.

No Quest players sounds pretty good honestly, no offense but they lowered the games quality.
