  • After a year of working together, Carrie and I (Christy-Lyn) finally had the opportunity to spend some time together in person, and we had such fun! Playing our harps together felt so easy and natural, and we enjoyed getting creative with sharing the melody and spontaneously adding a second part to this song.
At the moment there is no official duet version of this song, but you can purchase the solo version (early-intermediate level, see link below), which was what the melody harp was playing in this recording.

Are these harps in two different keys? I saw one of you changing a lever while the other didn't, even as one of you played exactly the same notes as the other. I studied this video closer and saw one harp starting with a black string, and the other starts with a red string. I deduce that the red starter is a C harp and the other one is an F harp. I enjoyed listening.

No the harps are both in the same key while playing this song, one of us is just playing from the sheet music and the other is playing from chords, so we are playing different notes most of the time. When the lever changes happen in the sheet music, I just avoided those notes when playing from chords so I didn’t have to do the lever changes and could focus on improvising in the moment 😊👍🏻

That was lovely! I’ve just bought a SE Fullsicle harp, and I’m struggling to feel “secure” with it. I have the stand. Do you have any advice as to how to position it please? I’m tall, so I can’t get the harp right on my shoulder, but I notice Carrie didn’t have hers on her shoulder either. Thanks!

Hi there! I love the stand, although it has taken some experimenting to figure out exactly how I like to use it. You can change the height, is that not enough height for you? In this video one of us was playing with a stand and one with a harp stick, I can’t remember which way round. But I think the difference in height was just preference or what happened along the way as we were swapping seats and trying to figure out the filming. Carrie isn’t much taller than me. You can also tilt the top of the stand where the Harpsicle attaches, so you don’t have to tilt the whole stand onto two feet. I’ve enjoyed that option because it feels much more secure to have the stand on all three feet. Another thing to consider is that if you really can’t get the harp to the height you want because of being too tall, they do have a taller stand which is meant for when you are standing playing the harp. So if it really isn’t tall enough for you, maybe you can return it and get the taller stand? Hope you come right! It can take a bit of time and experimenting to find what works for you ❤️
