Very impressive [partial] repair. BTW, you can reflash one of those Pokemon carts with the Aging Cartridge ROM using a DS Lite or GBxCartRW, the ROM has a button tester built into it, and you can set set it to boot right to the button test. Very handy for jobs like this and when dealing with dirty/broken shoulder buttons. I have attempted in the past to fix just the start/select ribbon and the wires kept ripping off during my reassembly attempts, so I shelved that project for the time being. Sanding the points and sticking the wire through the vias where possible were interesting approaches that I'll keep in mind if I revisit it.
@@SoundToxin Thank you for the tip! I do have a GBxCartRW and I will definitely be flashing that rom! Like I said in the video, this repair is not one I would reccomend for long term reliabilty. I hope to make a more reliable permenant solution in the future but for now this will do. The solder points are just too small and they do not provide enough anchorage to cement a long lasting, reliable connection.
@@Kalipper98 It is a project I am currently working on. I showes it in the video as a "sneak preview". Its a custome board I made and a USB-C male connector I got off Aliexpress.
So glad u do these repairs this a great reference point
