*July 2024: Guide is still up to date. On UIM I defeated the main boss in void on 3rd attempt using 3 prayer pots and full invent of sharks. This was recorded 2 days after the quest was released but only got around to editing it in full until now. Sorry for being late and hopefully this guide will help you. If not, let me know I can remake it when my other account reaches to the stage to be able to this quest :)
Took me close to 15 attempts to defeat the final boss. Lvl 93 cb (75 melee stats and 82 magic). I have a few tips for those struggling: -My final inventory was addy darts, 1 supercombat pot, 10 sara brews, 5 super restore pots, and rest mantas. I was originally just using mantas and I found in many of my attempts that I kept running out of food during the second phase (even with avoiding almost all of the special attacks). That’s why I recommend the brews. -start fight by immediately turning on protect from magic and drinking 1 dose of super combat pot. COUNT THE NUMBER OF TIMES HE HITS YOU. At the 5th hit he will use a random special attack, so turn away from him in case he uses darkness special. -count his attacks after his first special attack. Every 10th attack is another special attack (I would generally turn away and tank 2-3 hits to make sure I didn’t get hit by darkness - he doesn’t do it twice in a row though). -when you want to eat (I personally kept my hp high all the time), drink 3 doses of sara brews followed by 1 dose of super restore. Do this every time you want to eat during the first phase. -as soon as the first phase ends, heal up with the sara brews and switch prayer to protect from melee. Stand right next to him and attack him (don’t walk back and forth), zoom in a bit so you can see if a dark circle spawns under you, and continuously eat mantas each time you’re hit (keep your hp high!). -stay in one spot as you fight him during phase 2 while always being prepared to hop to an adjacent square in case of a dark circle spawning under you. With bad rng, you may have to hop back and forth repeatedly. Hopefully this helps. It’s a very frustrating boss but it is doable (even at lower cb’s than mine) but does take a small bit of rng luck. Try to find the lowest ping world possible (runelite has a plugin, but you can also use your command prompt to find it out as well).
It’s driving me nuts. I’m using piety, 4 ppots a super and shark/karam 1 tick eat. I think it’s possible but goddamnni can’t last more than 3 lightning rounds without getting hit and I’m out.
Just small tips to help people struggling with the final boss; - set darts to long range to avoid running towards those little bastards. - walking away after every hit is far easier than trying to react to the darkness attack. -use the lite to blood attacks tactic, it buffs damage hitting 30-40 on average - lightening stage is horrible but I found it best to pre-emotively move so that my guy was already running when the ground darkened making it easier to escape. - gear wise I used neitiznot, fury, fire cape, blessing, blessed d’hide body, barrows gloves, d boots, berserker ring, karil’s skirt - used chaps attempt 1 and 2, succeeded on the 3rd when I switched to karil’s it saved a TONNE of food making this swap, had 8 sharks left after the fight. - addy darts, 1 super cb, 3 prayer pots, full invent of sharks - partial luck if you’re mid level but keep at it people... GOOD LUCK
Bro.... It took me SO FUCKING LONG TO BEAT THIS QUEST...... I read what u wore, subbed out for an elemental shield and FINALLY fucking beat this quest... It was getting to the point where i was gonna pay someone to do it for me. I AM SO FUCKING THANKFUL THIS QUEST IS DONE AND OVER WITH... Im also 101.1 CB and still STRUGGLED with this godforsaken quest. I wish anyone who attempts this quest with as much luck as you can. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
@@NotS1mplee Same for me man. Once I switched to the skirt I got it. Was still a close fight but it felt way more doable. Brad's gear is a great recommendation.

After completing this quest i have finally reached my first ever questcape! All thanks to you Slayermusiq1 i cannot remember a single quest i did not use your guides for. You have made scaping in general a more pleasurable experience and such a smooth ride to quest cape! Thanks again my friend!
@@thelegacyofgaming2928 Absolutely, if you don't do things in the exact order of the quest helper, it can get confused, and will leave you helpless with no direction. Also who wouldn't want to listen to the sweet narration of Slayermusiq1 the quest god.
Beat the boss with stats: 70 att, 63 str, 70 def, 75 pray, 70 hp. Not easy fight at all. Had a pretty much perfect phase 1. Only got hit by 1 lightning bolt in phase 2. Inventory was: 1 super combat pot (4), 3 prayer pot (4), darts, and the entire rest manta rays. I ate an anglerfish before leaving mort'ton bank to go into fight with slightly boosted hp. Prayed magic and piety for phase 1. Switched to pray melee and piety for phase 2. Equipment was same as shown in video, except for body and legs I used red d'hide since my ranged level was only 62. I had tried this boss with lower stats and couldn't get far into phase 2. Having piety made almost all the difference. I had no items remaining when I killed him.
for those who haven't done this yet, i found that it was easier to just stay attacking him during phase one, pray magic and piety/chivalry, and go from there (range bveld, run from darkness and run around orb). i also brought just sharks as i'm not used to combo eating/brew drinking. im lvl 94 and died several times so don't get discouraged. prob died 5 times, tele'd 2. bring an ectophial for emergency, but i find most times it's too late and in the second phase if one hit gets you, it throws you off and you panic and get hit a second time.. it sucks, def hardest boss i've faced thus far. good luck
Thanks for this guide as always, finally got my quest cape! Hell ye! By reading the wiki and watching you fight them I realized these bosses are not that hard at all. In the passed 3 weeks I've went from 206 quest points to 278 thanks to you and the osrs wiki! Time to start busting out the rest of these diaries, or at least the ones I have levels for! I hope to see your guide on any of the new master quests+ that come out, can't wait to see the finale to the Morytania quest series, and what ever else they have up their sleeves!
Already got quest cape following every single guide on this channel, this quest was the first one I did by myself on release day without using any guides, still came here to show my support, wish everyone good luck, keep it up!
Tip: Instead of a quick teleport, you can bring a ring of life. Especially if it's your first time. Saved me a couple of 50k's. And if you land your final hit on the boss while he brings your health below 10% (i.e. RoL activates), it still counts!
Man oh man, that was a tough final battle. So much rng involved for that second phase! Get lucky when you’re trying to heal real quick (Shark+Bwan) and the next lightning won’t be under wherever you are. If you’re eating and trying to avoid and are unlucky, you’ll get hit twice and it’s gg.. died like four times (all on the second phase), ring of life saved me twice. Phew. Now onto going for the black grace outfit 😎
@@Rundagarjones Too many people don't bring brews, or they don't bring enough. Yes they're expensive, but you can use them to over-eat, and you have so much more hp in your inventory. I like to bring a couple anglers or something just to combo eat with the brews, but having a ton of brews and restores is what helped me with the final boss of Song of the Elves and I will be doing the same when I do this quest soon.
Beating that final boss was such a feat for me and such an intense dopamine rush that I finally decided to man up and do fire cape. Really great quest in general, I really enjoyed it.
my melee stats are 60/85/75 and I used full normal void, fire cape, blood ammy, dragon boots, b ring i, with piety on the whole time and I barely survived lol. granted I messed up a couple times but this boss is actually pretty tough. hopefully you got the boss by now tho lol
POGGERS I love hitting 0's over and over on the final boss with 90 strength and attack, Piety turned on and super combat potted up. GREAT design I tell you. 10/10! My blood pressure absolutely isn't driven up the wall at all /s
i had 99 str 99 attack and i hit 0 like 9 times in a row in stage one lmao. i got a lucky max hit of 46 on the second stage though and beat him 2nd try
Might I suggest one change for future episodes? Do the equipment before inventory. You'll need some inventory to pick out your outfit. This way you won't have to go back after picking out the equipment to refresh on what to have in the inventory again. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for doing these guides! I am a just about done with med school and the calm/nostalgia I get form watching your guides and playing OSRS makes my day!! It's the best break I could hope for =)
Bro... I was getting so frustrated with this final boss, and then I saw you got your guide up! Still took 3 tries, but being low combat this was so damn frustrating. So much more than MM2 and DS2. Thank you so much! Amazing guide as always!
@@NormalDynamics Low-mid 70s. 76 attack, 73 def/str. The final boss was a massive pain in the ass when I was trying it without Slayer's method. It'll still be tough, and may take a few tries, but you WILL get it following this guide. Only thing extra I used was a combat potion. But literally the final boss is the only tough part about it. Everything else you don't have to worry about at all.
@@winkville6382 I think it depends on your cb lvl. I did it at the minimum level, so it was very difficult as it's kind of a DPS race. But if you have some stats on you as you take this one on, it's a lot easier.
PRO TIP: DONT MOVE IN THE SECOND STAGE. LET ME EXPLAIN I am from Brazil, playing with 150 ping or even more. I killed him with a lv 94 cbt (75 - 75 - 71) with almost the same gear that Slayer used, except that I don't have a fire cape and used a ring of life. If you have an awful ping, just like me, stay in the same place and keep hitting him, praying melee defence. Move away from the lightening only when necessary. Like so fellow lagged players can see this.
As a gringo that moved to Brasil 3 years ago, I stopped playing runescape because of the absolute disadvantage we have playing outside of EU and NA lol... Stuck on this god awful biased mechanic and having to hope for rng to just tank and kill the guy..
ngl i watched this like "i dont need to bring that much food" even tho i brought just as much *immediately start getting clapped by shade tiles upon reaching phase 2* finished final boss with 3 hp and a load in my briches but hey we did it thx for the guide
I know I'm the only person in the game that reads all the dialog and follows the story, but aww, such a sad ending! There's going to be a follow up for sure
Just completed the quest. I would recommend you to on 2nd phase of the last boss pray melee and piety and looking right under your feet if a lighting strike is going to fall on your tile and if it does switch quickly of to the tile diagonally to the one you standing right now. I felt this was way easier then running a lot while praying mage
In the 2nd phase don't do the turn and run thing like he did, literally just stand there with Protect from Melee on and dodge the black circles and its very easy.
I did what you said, and i 1 shot him as a 90 cmb, 2 sharks leftover, just stay calm and dodge whenever it spawns under you. eat between thunder cloud spawns.
@@lauraborabeee hahaha, thats unlucky, just keep calm and click one tile away from the black circle, avoiding it is more important than attacking him :)
Some additional tips if your lower / mid level. I'm 92CB (all around 75 combat stats). Take 4 prayer potions and run reflex and strength prayers along with protect from magic. this will increase your accuracy so you will kill him faster and not need as much food. Set darts to long range. I'm new to the game* (haven't played in like 15 years) so I'm not used to fighting bosses. took me at least 15 tries to finish this guy, but by the end you'll have the pattern down pact. 1st phase is a cake walk, the lighting was super hard for me, but eventually got him with food to spare. Good luck everyone and thanks Slayer, I've strictly used your guides for all 180QP I have so far. Idk how people played this game before detailed quest guides!
After doing this quest you will realize that theres gonna be another one involving the series where you probably have to fight the biggest daddy of them all
Lord Drakan took vanescula out back effortlessly while she was supposed to be as strong or stronger than Ranis (quest boss of A taste of hope). Veliaf is right, they have won.
lvl 94 combat. 25 tries, gottie. All because of your input! Thank you. 3-prayer(4) pots, 1-super defense(4) pot, 1- super combat(4) pot, 50 adamant darts and 22 manta rays. Had 11 hp at the end and used everything. Armadyl helm, ancient d’hide body, ancient d’hide chaps, dragon boots, fire cape, dragon defender, barrows gloves, amulet of fury, berserker ring. lvl 72 attack, lvl 70 strength, lvl 72 defense, lvl 82 range, lvl 70 prayer, lvl 76 hit points. Let’s go
As soon as my boosted stats dropped 3 lvls, I drank more combat and defense pots. This way by the time the battle is over I use all 4 doses! Oh yeah, totally forgot prayed protect from magic and piety 100% of the fight
Wait, this seems like a better version of Branches of Darkmeyer, although the boss fight is more intense in rs3, but I like how klase presents himself in this one.
I like you and I like your guides. You have helped me a lot during my RS journey. Most of the guides have potty mouths and my husband and I aren't into that. We also play with our children, so it's nice to comfortably watch these guides. Thanks for breaking it down. A list of what you're wearing would be helpful in the description for those of us with audio processing disorders. Thanks for your vids.
Thank you for this guide. Haven't reached the final boss yet, but I feel safer watching you do it. Haha. Also, can we get a face reveal soon? Edit: I kicked his ass!!!
I waited for your video to come out. I’ll be using it to get the ability to wear my quest cape again. You helped me finish every quest in the game. You are a legend. I appreciate you and all of your efforts for the RS community. 👊🏻
Side note: If you die on the final boss, you can reclaim your items at the grave yard for 50,000 GP It has also been mention by someone else, but I recommend using Piety aswell and just taking an extra prayer pot
Thank you for this guide and all the rest of the guides finally got my Quest cape! played since i was like 10 and now 22.... got this 100% because of you thank you again!
I actually really like the failed attempts/bloopers at the end. I've done this one before on my main but I always come back whenever I make a new account to your channel haha, reminds me when I still suck that we all have our moments lol.
Careful when using darts as your ranged weapon on the final boss to kill the small 'minion' he spawns. Your character will get too close on rapid/accurate and you'll eat 40+ damage, long-range may be your best option but I instead brought a crystal bow.
Thank you so much for making these videos! It has helped me so much. I have just finished all the quests! I look forward to new quests because I will miss watching your videos! They are so detailed.
id like to see a behind the scenes on how you make these guides, like do you take notes by hand, play the quest through twice to determine absolute correct chat options? how? interesting
The boss fight on this quest took me 11 attempts but I was using a mousepad on my laptop. Got so frustrated that I went to Walmart and bought a wired mouse with which I beat the boss fight with 3 more attempts. Crazy good quest !!!
PRO TIP for anyone doing this their first time if using runelite activate entityhider plugin to hide yourself during the 2nd phase or the chat command ::renderself. My only issue with this fight was the lightning bolts in the 2nd phase I had such a hard time seeing the shadows until it was to late, especially the couple times I wore void it was impossible to see. Hiding your character makes it super easy to see and doge the lightning without your character blocking the little circle shadows. Beat it super easy by using entity hider!!! Also you can use slayer helm if on a vampire task that also helped a lot.
I had to go for a full inv of sara brews and super restores on my 3rd attempt. Only had 2 sara brews left at the end. stats 75 Att 76 Str 76 Def 89 HP. Pretty hard boss.
My stats were 70 atk 70 strength 66 defence and 76 health. Had take 3 sara brew, a super restore, 2 prayer pot, super combat and rest manta. Died 6 times. It was really hard if i didn't take the super combat I would have died.
your an absolute fucking god send !!!! 24 trys and failed hard full invent brews and restores fucking finished on 7 brews lefT !!!! thanks for the idea bro same stats lol
Wouldnt even do final boss untill u have at least base 80 melees lol did it with base 70s didnt get hit by any shadows but ran out of 24 manta cause weapon is so sht that you miss 90% of the time.
Don't let the boss fight scare you. Brought 2 brews rest angler. Face tanked every darkness mechanic, got hit by 3/4 blood splats on ground and still had food left. 91 cb, 60 atk, 93 str, 45 def.
Beat the quest first try thanks to your guide! Managed to beat the final boss with 1hp left, imagine the terror i had deciding to click to attack 1 more time instead of tele out.
remember to take care of the timing and when u eat, walk first then eat, attack first then eat, walk then attack. so when the lightning comes down, you can walk and not stuck in eating or attacking animation, hope that helps
@@IloveGorgeousGeorge It's really rough like you need to either walk him behind you or attack the first Vampire which should put you in front, but you can use food on him which doesn't do much but may help a little to prolong his dumb ass death
Got sixth time lucky with the boss fight, but got really close a couple times before. Combat level 92. Stats: 71 att & def, 77 str, 79hp, 57 prayer. Gear I was wearing was same as the video except I wore a Karil’s skirt. The method of moving away after attacking him worked well for the first phase, I timed it so as soon as his characters attack movements were finished I would then attack and move back. If I saw the yellow text above him I knew a special attack was coming so would keep looking away incase it was the dark screen, then take action as needed. Blood spots I ran behind as in this video so he triggered them. For phase 2 I didn’t run around, stayed in one spot next to him and focused on healing HP & checking for the dark spots appearing underneath me, at which point just moved one square then back to the spot to keep attacking. Also I kept protect from melee on at all times during phase 2. Inventory was 3 prayer pots, mithril knives for the pets, one super combat potion, one emergency tele and the rest sharks. Had some food left over at the end. If you can keep calm, focus and perfect it throughout without taking any of his big hits during special attacks it’s do-able! Thanks Slayer again for the guide, have less than 60 QP to go now thanks to your guides!
Duuuuuuude why all the running around.. The second time I went to the boss I just stood still facing him with melee prayer only moving when the lightning was on my spot and it was waaaay easier.
@@Victor-kt6qn You just gave me flashbacks :p The first time before my comment this boss killed my hcim But idk what to say, it shouldn't bee too difficult when standing still, before you go in hop to the lowest ping world using runelite worldhopper to check, maybe that helps.
After months of trying the boss fight, I've finally killed him. 89 Combat (71 Att, 67 Str, 70 Def, 70 Pray w/ Piety unlocked). Wore Neitiznot Helm, Amulet of Fury, Blessed D'hide Top, Karil's Skirt, Dragon Boots, Barrows Gloves, Ardy Cloak 2, Explorer's Ring 2, Rada's Blessing 2, and a Dragon Defender. Popped a Divine Super Combat (so stats wouldn't drain), and ate Shark throughout the fight. Biggest change up was during Phase 2, instead of constantly running about, I just turned on Protect from Melee, and only moved when I had to. Eventually managed to do enough damage, and still had 4 shark and 2 doses of prayer potion left. Thank you Slayer.
@@nickclark18 I have two jobs, and somewhat a third job with trying to drop a new engine into my car all on my own. I don't have the time to spend on this game (or any game for that matter). Regardless, still feel like my info was helpful to others who want to get their Quest Capes at lower levels.
Am I the only one who found it extremely difficult to fight the last boss? I took 22 attempts before I managed to kill him. God this quest drained my want to play anymore.
Yes it certainly was, whilst I'm high level (almost max) I never do bosses (still haven't got fire cape cause scared to try). Got lucky to win first time but used basically all my food/prayer pots.
I just did it after like the 5th try but the boss and me killed each other lmao. We both reached 0 hp at the same time. I respawned and when I went back and got my gear, I was able to talk to the guy and it counted lol! Did it with 75str, 73at and 72def with 3 prayer pots, super combat pot and rest dark crabs. I had d hide body, karils skirts, d boots, ardy cape, neitiznot helmet on.
This quest man... finally completed the boss fight. Biggest advice I can give is just accept you'll loose at least 5-10 times, will take a few hours and just instead try to get into the rhythm of it instead of going for the win. Phase 1 became super easy after 3-4 tries and was a none issue, I could get to the second phase with half an invent of food and plenty of prayer, but I had loads of stupid failiures in the second phase. For the second phase, turn on auto retailiate (should be off for phase 1) and pray melee - let your character do all the attacking. Your focus should only be on avoiding the lightning tile (move diagonally) and keeping your prayer and health as high as possible at all times to give you wiggle room. 92 CMB [75A/71S/71D/68M/70P] with Piety. Nezzy helm, Ardy Cloak 2, Fury, Rada's Blessing 2, Guthix D'hide body, Dragon defender, Karils skirt, Barrows gloves, D boots, Brimstone ring. Inventory (in order): rune knives, 3 prayer pots, 3 manta's, super combat, 4 manta's, 8 karambwans, 8 manta's. I ended up finishing with 2 prayer doses left, 1 manta, 3 karambwans and 1 dose of super combat. Save the karambwans for Phase 2 as the tick eating will really, really help you.
I know your pain, I've got satellite internet and phase 2 is pure torture. By the time you see the shadow it's already too late to move so you basically have to get really lucky that lightning won't hit the same spot twice. I've even tried running in circles around the guy, but seem to always find the lightning.
Yeah I lagged like crazy and died so many times. Still haven't finished lol, I had to take a break because it was driving me insane. I'm watching a bunch of cat videos to help ease my rage before I go back
Been wanting a quest cape since I started playing this game as a teenager. like 14 years later on multiple accounts and here I finally am. Thank you Slayermusiq1.
Thank you! I got ol' Vanstrom on my third try. First time, my heart was racing, I couldn't focus but I got him down to 16hp before I died to the lightning. Second time took bullshit blood orb damage and a darkness, so I ran out of food early at the end. Third time, I stomped his ass with 4 Manta Rays left. That blood orb's range is sneaky far. I always thought I was skirting the damn thing but it nabbed me each try.
Thanks for the guide! Studied how you did the boss, did it on second try! Died at 25 hp left at first try, wasnt too hard but really need to dodge the big attacks!

Took me close to 15 attempts to defeat the final boss. Lvl 93 cb (75 melee stats and 82 magic). I have a few tips for those struggling:
-My final inventory was addy darts, 1 supercombat pot, 10 sara brews, 5 super restore pots, and rest mantas.

Just small tips to help people struggling with the final boss;
- set darts to long range to avoid running towards those little bastards.
- walking away after every hit is far easier than trying to react to the darkness attack.
-use the lite to blood attacks tactic, it buffs damage hitting 30-40 on average
- lightening stage is horrible but I found it best to pre-emotively move so that my guy was already running when the ground darkened making it easier to escape.

The last fight is harder than most bosses. Thanks for the guide, you are great.
Sote boss is much harder
@@Rixxan1 Done both, this was definitely worse, ivandis flail is hot steaming dogsht
Just completed this. It took 30 attempts at mid 70’s combat. I feel for anyone who is stuck on this fight. Dont give up!

@@milord_tibbs overeat with angler before you go and use brews and restores
@@Rundagarjones Too many people don't bring brews, or they don't bring enough. Yes they're expensive, but you can use them to over-eat, and you have so much more hp in your inventory. I like to bring a couple anglers or something just to combo eat with the brews, but having a ton of brews and restores is what helped me with the final boss of Song of the Elves and I will be doing the same when I do this quest soon.
Beating that final boss was such a feat for me and such an intense dopamine rush that I finally decided to man up and do fire cape. Really great quest in general, I really enjoyed it.

Bro... I was getting so frustrated with this final boss, and then I saw you got your guide up! Still took 3 tries, but being low combat this was so damn frustrating. So much more than MM2 and DS2. Thank you so much! Amazing guide as always!
What are your stats? I'm at 70 for all combat stats and I'm kinda scared of the quest.
@@NormalDynamics Low-mid 70s. 76 attack, 73 def/str. The final boss was a massive pain in the ass when I was trying it without Slayer's method. I am from Brazil, playing with 150 ping or even more.
This definitely helps but that final phase is 100% RNG unfortunately. Pray redemption and hope you get lucky

Yup, way easier to just stand there, I only had to move 1 time for a black circle
Doesn’t he use mage tho?
I did what you said, and i 1 shot him as a 90 cmb, 2 sharks leftover, just stay calm and dodge whenever it spawns under you. eat between thunder cloud spawns.

"Destroy the meth lab table" LOL
