I don't understand how a large tractor-like vehicle is only a "semi" truck. A truck or tractor trailer just makes more logical sense.
The "smaller trucks" are now bigger than my dad's 07 Silverado. So should we still call them small trucks?

For the proformance tests with the large cargo, you should have used the short cab long bed on the D series

In the US, I usually only ever see these things being used to tow massive camping trailers or race car haulers with the whole mobile workshop. They're great as tow pigs. 🤷
haha put a tray on instead of a bed, and you'd easily be able to fit a car in there

You kind of missed one of the most important things. When carrying a heavy load, it doesn't matter so much whether you can get going or how fast, but that you are able to slow down and maintain a reasonable speed on a downhill grade for miles without the brakes overheating.
haha like most people modifying their vehicles, brakes are an afterthought :P
This is a really cool truck! Even the my dog loves it, somehow. This would also be really cool with the diesel v12 engine
haha well you could always put the v12 in it, as that mod is also public :P My dog would love to go in the back of something like this, but they'd not be able to jump that high haha

These kind of modeling shenanigenas are pretty much how the F650 and others like it (yes, that was not a one off) in the introduction was made.

the grab was 0%, but it was still 74nm still. Once I was done though, I ctrl+mouse wheeled up so it'd get stronger again... how strong? dunno
as for having the planks over the tailgate, it was too long and tipped out, plus the front lifted up
A pickup truck has a bed separate from the cab a Ute is where the bed and cab are one peace

We call sweet trucks "Large Cars" like a good long hood truck with all the power in the world. So technically this is a ute.

There's a consumer Semi. It's a semi truck cab on a giant Ford chassis.

Its not uncommon, especially like on 2-5 ton trucks for example: chevy Kodiak, GMC topkick, Ford f750
Stuff like Chevy D40 and Ford F4000 are really common here in Brazil.

fun fact: the F650 shown at the start of the video is an actual truck, it isnt actually custom built, aside from the bed being put on the rear (the F650 as far as I know comes as a cab & chassis truck)
there is a company that will add modern interiors and beds to any brand but international made one that was stock from the factory

1) We call semis "trucks" in America but they're actually classified as tractors here. 2) Do the tailgates not work? Not able to play beam so I don't know if that's a thing or not in game.

Never head anyone call a normal pickup truck a ute more than likely because a ute is a coupe with a bed
well that's how it started, but it eventually also encompass any non-commercially used conventional vehicle with a tray

I love your videos, you inspired me to start modding too, but I don't understand why you don't use node editor for nodes and beams, it will be so much easyer.
I use it sparingly, 1 because it's very clunky (like a 90s program because they considered UX), 2 it has no undo (which is a real pain in the penis), and 3 because it throws many errors because it's not really made for beamng specifically

cabovers and regular body are very different, meaning I'd need to do HUGE amount of work to it :/ besides, there's racing with these kinds of trucks anyway

Can you make an AC mod (you can toggle the AC fan, and the fan is loud as a vacum, like in real cars). Becose its summer and i really miss the sound of AC fan in car.
@@zsomborgameplayoffical That would need lua and input maps scripting. You'll have a make a keybind, that triggers a function, such as 'AC_On' or something, and use it to activate a lua script to play a loop sound

nah, the big difference is they are a car chassis usually, reinforced, and a ute tray on the back
as opposed to a "pickup" which is a fully unique chassis designed to be terrible for handling etc
