Chasing 60 MPH on a Go Kart

This week, we install the go power sports "stage 2" performance kit, which includes a high performance cam, billet flywheel, billet rod, valve springs, and a spark plug. After, we do top speed tests to see how the performance kit affected our 212 kart's top speed.

Little tip. Don't yank a pull-start all the way out.
It's very hard on the spring, catches, and the pull cord plus you'll constantly break cords.

You could go with bigger rear tires to pick up some speed as well if the sprocket change doesn't get you there but you might have to relocate the carb to make room for more tire.

Check the throttle spring, mine was weak, I just rigged up a rod instead of a spring and my stock 212 with a header goes 40. Even though i was fully engaging the throttle the spring was too weak to pull the carb all the way open.

I put a 212 on a off road yerf dog with 18” tires. Tried with a clutch I had and as I figured it was geared to high for the yard but with stock 212 and no governor runs 47mph so I think just with the governor removed it’d hit 60!

I think 60 mph might be a bit ambitious for that little predator engine, you need a 1100 gxr motor for that.
