Remarkable that this 86-year old composer is still producing works as vibrant and radical as younger generation composers. If the 'young people' referred to in the comment below cannot appreciate music of this quality, then it is their loss. Thank you for providing this magnificent performance.

I am deeply impressed : by the music, the players! What an incredible variety in sound colours, dynamics ,combinations of instruments. The bayan player knocks me off my feet with his playing and commanding appearance. God, this is such a treat.

It's a really sad fact that this music seems to lure most the elderly than the young people. It's like when people suddenly realize what is the kind of music that has got really high quality and then they regret it a little lately and go to classical/contemporary classical music concerts. Again, this music should lure also young people.

I've enjoyed classical music since I was 22 (I'm 35 now). No other form of music comes close, in my opinion. I am, sadly, an anomaly

This seems to be a contemplation of the "End of Life"; not something a young person might like. Bodies are dissolving and souls are being squeezed upward into the ether. I believe the composer was in her mid-80's when she wrote this.
It is very touching, a kind of Farewell, maybe.

you are write about the time she wrote it, but that's another thing.

Unfortunately, worldly life swallows the minds of people completely so that not all develop in the spiritual plane. I'm almost 30 years old. I hope I'm still young)

Admittedly the heads of the audience members are predominantly grey (and quite a few of them bald), but in the orchestra I see quite a few young musicians......there is still hope.....
