Besides the wonderful Schubert music, I adore the fact that they are dressed in everyday clothes. It seems to convey the message: listen, this music is for everyone!

Yes! When I´m listening to this I realize that it is possible to transform a string quartet into music for a string orchestra. Norwegian Chamber Orchestra is doing it so well, without loosing their signum: the directness, the eyecontact with each other, their nuanced playing with so much understanding of the bones in the music. And as this is wonderful music by Schubert, I think it becomes even more wonderful in this arrangement. Dramatic and painful, yes, but also quite wonderful.

This master-piece has so much scope, I am under no doubt that Franz Schubert would have loved this CHAMBER arrangement rendition in an Orchestral form. Fantastic creativity for the arrangement A++. Tusen Takk !! Absolutely Loved it

Beautiful! It’s fun to compare this version to Kopatchinskaja’s (with Saint Paul chamber orchestra) and Mahler’s arrangements. In my opinion they are all great - it is Schubert after all.

This arrangement is by Terje Tønnesen, but yes, Gustav Mahler has an arrangement of this string quartet as well.
