I really like the siser dtv. I made a shirt with it, easy to use, colors are great and it has held up in the wash and dryer. Its been about 8 washes and looks the same as day 1.
Hi Maria! Thank you for sharing your experience with us as I'm sure many customers are trying to find the right brand for their project. Siser also does ship quickly! - Dawn 🙂
I’m gonna have to give that brand a try! I have tried so many brands and after one wash they look awful! Thanks for sharing that the siser works great! 🙏
I must be doing something wrong. I made a shirt using the siser easycolor dtv and washed it once. the color on one of the letters came out :( I used a cricuit easy press
For the Siser one, I recommend you do it with a heat press not a cricut one. I had done it both ways and it’s a big difference after washing in my opinion.
@cyberevie30 thank you so much, I have been trying to figure out why my designs don't stay on for more than 4 or five washes, or have super weird markings on them from the press.
Ok I wish you had used a real heat press with all 3 of these. The cricut easy press is notorious for not heating to an accurate temp. Meaning you set it for 350 but it only gets to 325. That could be why DTV is peeling. A fun test would be testing different heat presses and seeing which ones are accurate when it comes to temps
Young Lady, you are an absolute joy to watch and listen to, I learn a lot, and, you are not boring to listen too, you are a very interesting video personality and instructor... I've had my Siser easy color DTV on a T shirt for about 4 washes but I've not had it do that, it came out nice and flat and hasn't shown any sign of pealing or wrinkling, but I didn't run it through mu Cricut either, I pressed almost the whole sheet with my design...
Great job! Couple of questions/comments: why use the dark fabric setting and then put on white shirt? Is that just the go to setting? Also, it would be a good comparison now with a heat press for all three to see if that would work the same as well. TYSM for doing these comparisons for others, I’ve learned SO much from you!!❤
Hi Lori! You are so very welcome and yes, I think the heat press would also be a great comparison because of the equal pressure that comes with using a press. The Walmart brand suggested the dark fabric setting but it can be used on either color fabric. We appreciate your kind words and we're so thankful you are able to learn from our tutorials. 🥰- Dawn
To my knowledge, the "light fabric" transfer is a completely different product and process (for exemple you have to mirror your design ) that is more "translucent". The light/dark refers to the "technology" of the material you're printing on, not the color of the fabric... but while you can use the material for "dark" on white (it's opaque), you probably won't see anything if you try the transfer for "light" on a black shirt.
I have used siser for a students birthday shirt and the exact Walmart brand. Sister does wrinkle. He's work his shirt several times and I clearly see the wrinkles and it's peeling as well. Because that makes so many shirts for my classroom using the Walmart brand is convenient but it does tend to be lighter it lasts very well though through the washes I noticed still knew what this but thank you for the comparisons.
I love that you make your students bday shirts! How sweet is that! ❤ I always make sure we do first of the year gifts, Christmas, birthday and teacher appreciate and an end of the year gift! I have a huge respect for you guys ❤ I’m 46 and me and my bestie still remember our worst and best teachers! Y’all make memories for a lifetime and deserve all the recognition 😘
I’ve done a comparison of Pen&Gear vs. Avery iron-on transfer paper and found the Avery to be better than the Pen&Gear in brightness, printing sharp edges, etc. and believe the Avery lasts better.
I also have tried many htv on light and dark and I really like the Avery on both, when I first started out doing shirts and sweatshirts, I used Avery, then after seeing so many other brands I wasn’t sure I had a good brand because it’s not mentioned much.long story short, I made my husband a black 100% cotton shirt using the Avery for darks with the ink jet printer and the design had super tiny birds (at least 25 birds) so I used a mask to pick them up to appt on the shirts. Anyway as time went on and with some other brands were a waste of money, I ended up looking at his shirts I made with both dark and light and I even counted the tiny birds and not one was missing, the colors are still as they were when I made it and it’s a favorite shirt so it gets washed regularly. So it will be my go for my darks or all cotton shirts. I even do sublimation on these sheets, no problem most of the time with my printer but I load it manually and it works great!
Just a question, if you used the printable iron on for dark fabrics, why did you put it on a light/white tshirt? Good timing for me to watch this video because I've been wanting to try printable iron on and can't decide what product to use. In doing some research, it looks like you DON'T mirror images for printable iron on for dark fabrics, but you DO mirror printable iron on for light fabrics. Is this true?
Hi Cindy! Thank you for reaching out and for our testing purposes, we wanted to see how the product would adhere and if there was any stretching or color differences after the press. Normally, we would recommend using a dark shirt, but for this test the color of the shirt wouldn't have changed the results - Dawn 🙂
@designbundles Thanks for the video! Just a suggestion, the Siser dtv will adhere better to the shirt and will last longer and not wrinkle as much if pressed with a heat press.
Thank you. After this video my sister used printable vinyl for her business tshirts and it felt cheap. No more doing these for me. Right now easisubli is how I have to do but it cost sooooo much! I'm hoping someone comes out with something else or I could buy a dtf and go broke lol.
With siser you have to wait 24 hours to cut as well. Don’t cut or press for 24 hours. That’s where the bleeding come in. The wrinkles are from the shirt shrinking.
I think it was a pretty fair shake between the three, I’m not partial to any of them but if choosing I would go with the StarCraft going off of your results, I’ve not done any of this so that’s what I’ve got to go by. Thank you so much for your videos and advice I’m pretty new to the game I do appreciate the testing you provide for us.
Hello love this stuff and thank you very much for the tutorials. Can you try using sublimation ink instead of regular printing ink on sisser and starcraft. ☺️☺️🤔🤔
My I ask a question, why did you use dark paper for white T-shirt I think the result would have been different. I use siser and with siser it does not matter what color or material you use , thank you for the video
Hi there! Thank you for reaching out and we're happy to help! For the brands that were tested, it could be used on dark or light fabrics. While the brands suggested dark shirts, we added the white offset so using the white shirt worked out well for this test. - Dawn 🙂
Love that you did the comparison so I didn't have to ;-)! I have only used the siser & I like it. I don't want to get into sublimation so this seems like an acceptable alternative. But must say I will be thinking about your challenge to you viewers as to what you should compare next...maybe different brands of cardstock? Or different glues? I'll be giving this much thought as I drift to sleep :-). TY - job well done!
Great Video...would sublimation ink be better to print with on the htv rather than regular ink ? Also was it dried in a dryer, most stores say to not dry that material in a dryer
I recently used the Cricut Printable Iron-On, Dark using my basic inkjet printer. I was disappointed my design printed very light and had hoped through the application it would get darker, it did not. You didn't review the Cricut product on this video, however hoping to find out if others have experienced the same issue. Please share.
Ok so first off all I use siser and I don't have any of the wrinkling or peeling or bleed like in this video. I use a heat press and eco solvent ink though. Second that Walmart and starcraft stuff is no where near the quality. I used them also. Siser beat them by a long shot using the equipment I have.
Siser easycolor, thats the new goto standard. 3G Jet Opaque was top for a long time, but no more. Not only is it impossible to use transfer tape with (unless you peel it and put it on a carrier sheet), it cracks and lasts maybe 2 or 3 minths. Something changed, dramatically, and lately. 3G just isnt good anymore. Siser easycolor is light hand and durable way way way longer. You can use transfer tape with siser.
I was liking the Siser until after the wash test, once the press brought out the colors, but if I did this I’d be trying the Starcraft… most likely. Honestly though, I’m thinking I’d avoid this method 😅. Thank you for doing this H2H.
@@kountrykraftsbyDeb ah, yes, okay 👍🏼! Thank you. It is a great option for last minute shirts. My wife is a teacher and will sometimes come home wanting to do a shirt for the next day. I will keep that in mind about this. Thanks again.
The Siser holds up pretty well if you use a heat press instead of an Easy Press. The heat press applies way more even pressure. I think it just wrinkled because it did not have enough pressure in order to stick well to the shirt and water went under it and lifted it off because I have pressed it with a heat press and it's perfectly fine.
I wish you would’ve put inkjet in your title because I passed this by because I don’t have sublimation. I decided to go back and look at it and several minutes in you mentioned that it’s inkjet. It would be nice if that is upfront.
I tried the walmart brand on light and dark i sprayed it with a clear sealer before i applied it to my shirt i didnt get any bleeding after about 30 washes its starting to peel
Siser is 33 for like 10 sheets so 3.10 a sheet not bad for pricier quality shirt but for other stuff I been using the Walmart brand and it works great specially if you make the color vibrant or darker … I edit my art on procreate and or buy etsy files for shirts I love making stickers tho super easy w the ink jet
When I used my inkjet printer on siser the image came out extremely blurry and oversaturated. I tried all the settings different types of paper density settings etc
I’ve only used StarCraft and I love it. Have used it on white so I’m not sure about bleeding. The color and pictures hold up well though. I’m looking for another brand because it’s hard to find StarCraft at the moment. I just bought the Walmart brand today, but I’m considering taking it back after watching this.
Hi there thank you for this review. I am currently trying to decide on the best printable htv as I dont have a sublimation printer. Can you advise on the difference between the sublimation paper and the printable htv. Thanks
Hi there! With Sublimation paper it requires a special sublimation printer, if you don't have one -- you can use your regular injet with your printable HTV! - Dawn 🙂
In your opinion, what is the best printable HTV to use in my sublimation printer to get more of a smooth transfer than looking like the design is laying on top of fabric. They all do but I’m looking for one that will seem to go into the fabric. Any help?
You made this over a year ago, and I'm wondering if you've tried the Siser EasyColor DTV, again, recently, to see if they've improved on it. From the comments below, it sounds like it. I bought a pack of 5 with the TTD and I'm trying to build up my courage to use it. I have a pack of Walmart Fabric Transfer sheets, and screwed up putting my designs on by trying to do them at different times, and my butcher paper made a mess, but what I ended up with was some red bleeding. I'm going to use that shirt to experiment on, but for now, Have you tried this, again, recently? Thanks for all your work to show us the comparisons.
when i used this seiser product to make coozies, it didn't stick the greatest and started to peel. Unfortunate because I too love seiser. Not a huge deal tho because I don't plan on using printable vinyl again, but wanted to give it a try.
Your videos are so good, very detailed and informative. Because of this video, i would go with the Siser. QUESTION: What would you suggest to use for the carrier film/ transfer sheet for the Siser Brand? I've read so many bad reviews on theirs. Thank you and keep up the good work. 💛
I appreciate your video's very much, I have learned a lot from them and I love your web site. Now for the iron on transfers I am not sure what I would do, my niece has used some from Wal Mart that she has ironed on with a regular iron and her son wore them several time don't know exactly how many, but I would like to try the Siser and a Wal Mart item (maybe Avery) and see what I get if I prewash the shirts and use the heat press like others suggested below. Thank you so much for all your test.
Hey Sandra! Thank you for your kind words and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us! I bet you will help some of our customers who are using the Wal Mart brand! - Dawn 🙂
I could swear your not supposed to use carrier sheets with these?? Can anyone verify they have used one? bc sometimes I have pieces so that would be easier if we can. Thanks!
Hi Cheryl! What are the troubles you are having with the puff? You can always write in to mail@designbundles.net with any pictures or join us in a live chat while you are crafting! We are here to help! - Dawn
Yes! That would be a great idea for something like brands of infusible ink or different vinyls as well! We couldn't use printable heat transfer vinyl for a mug however because it is only meant for fabrics! - Dawn 🙂
My preferred printable DTV is the Siser, and I've never had the results you got. I've pressed with my EasyPress using either parchment paper or a Teflon sheet, washed more than once, and didn't iron a single shirt, but my design didn't wrinkle up nor did any colors bleed. Based on what others have said here, I'm convinced you must have gotten a bad batch.
@@DesignBundles what would you recommend to use as a product for that purpose. Let's say I wanted to have a photo. Is there a product you'd recommend for that?

This press: www.swingdesign.com/products/swing-design-15-x-15-8-in-1-heat-press-turquoise is a little bit over $400 but I've heard good things about it. - Brittany
Initially, I looked at the 8 in 1 but after reading numerous reviews and watching videos, I opted for a more quality heat press then added the cup press as I went along. Have you considered a toaster oven for cups? Honestly, my box of tumblers has not been used, tho they are very popular. :-)
Yes, I agree. I think for longer lasting results, sublimation is the best bet. If you are creating something for a 1 time use, I would say that dtv could work. - Dawn 🙂
I would say that if your offset is white, it doesn't matter, but if you decided to do a colored offset (for exemple if your shirt is black and you wanted the offset not to be so "in your face", you might try a black offset) keeping the bleed on would be important. The "bleed" means the printer prints just a bit farther than your original design where the cut line is going to be, so the cut line is inside a printed area, it reduces the chances of even a very slight white line showing (because even a hairline of white can be very visible on some colors). If your bleed is white, it doesn't matter since printers don't print the white and your cut line will be in a white area with or without bleed.

Do you think the Siser easy color feels soft like sublimation or more like vinyl feel?
Vinyl
when i used this seiser product to make coozies, it didn't stick the greatest and started to peel. Unfortunate because I too love seiser. Not a huge deal tho because I don't plan on using printable vinyl again, but wanted to give it a try.
Sad to know it didn't work out 🥲 But thank you for letting me know ! It will help a lot for my future projects
Is there a way to fake sublimation? I can't afford another printer, but love some of the files!
Hi Pat! I think the printable vinyl is your best bet. You can use the same designs with your inkjet printer! - Dawn 😊
That’s exactly why I’m here lol
Is there an update comparing the new Cricut printable tv?
Your videos are so good, very detailed and informative. Because of this video, i would go with the Siser. QUESTION: What would you suggest to use for the carrier film/ transfer sheet for the Siser Brand? I've read so many bad reviews on theirs. Thank you and keep up the good work. 💛
What about the puffy vinyl? Could you please do this?❤thank you in advance
What ink do use for printing in the printable htv?
I would like to see a comparison of the siser dtv and 3g opaque using a regular heat press not an easy press . Thank you.
Thank you for the idea! We will add this to our list of upcoming tutorials because so many customers are interested in DTV! - Dawn 🙂
Can you cut the Siser with the Cricut explorer 2?
yes you can - CrystalAnn
- Dawn 🙂
I like the siser best untl the gvinyl wrinkled after washing. When do you use that white powder on the transfer vinyl?
Hi there! The white powder is used for sublimation when you are sublimating on 100% cotton or a count other than a poly blend - Dawn
@@DesignBundles ok, that makes sense. Thank you so much! I enjoy your informative videos!
I could swear your not supposed to use carrier sheets with these?? Can anyone verify they have used one? bc sometimes I have pieces so that would be easier if we can. Thanks!
the Siser folks recommend leaving them for 24 hours before pressing.
Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it! -Brittany
I never use none of these brands before, thank you.
I’m having trouble with puff vinyl any advice
Hi Cheryl! What are the troubles you are having with the puff? You can always write in to mail@designbundles.net with any pictures or join us in a live chat while you are crafting! We are here to help! - Dawn
I saw somewhere that Siser recommends adding 30 degrees if using easy press. Is that correct?
How about a test of the same on a ceramic mug or a tumbler?
Great suggestion, I will pass it along to the team! -Brittany
What did you use for the carrier film/transfer sheet? I've read so many bad reviews on Siser's carrier film/ transfer sheet.
@@littlefifths7760 Surprisingly, I just used their standard stuff. I never had a problem.
I have read many people use parchment paper successfully. I am ordering to give it a try myself.
What is the difference between attach and flatten?
Love this! Are you using the regular ink jet ink or eco solvent?
Yes! This is Crystal's regular ink from her Canon Inkjet (from Walmart) - Dawn
I think it would also matter which print settings and/or color profiles are used.
Hi Karen, yes! And also the printer and ink quality! - Dawn
I definitely see the white on the Walmart but not the others. Wow!! I don't like any of them after a wash. Does Cricut have this type of product?
Yes they do! Might have to test it in the next video - Agata
Ooo what about for car decals for printable vinyl?
How would you iron them on?
You would not be able to iron them onto your car. - Brittany
@@DesignBundles I meant permanent printable vinyl 😊
Hi Bridget! We wouldn't recommend printable vinyl for car decals as it wouldn't be able to stand up to the weather as permanent vinyl would! - Dawn 🙂
@@DesignBundles what would you recommend to use as a product for that purpose. Let's say I wanted to have a photo. Is there a product you'd recommend for that?
I CAN'T SEEM TO GET STARCRAFT PRINTABLE HTV TO TRANSFER TO CARRIER SHEET WITHOUT THE PAPER COMING UP WITH THE VINYL. IT'S BEEN A BEAR TO GET IT TRANSFERED, ANY TIPS?
Hi Ann! Have you tried heating the pad and then letting the htv warm before weeding? This was a trick that Crystal shared in a previous video! - Dawn
I love your tutorials !
Thank you so much for watching, commenting and for your feedback!! We're so glad you love our videos!
Thanks very straight explanation and helpful
Hi, I tried the siser and hated it. It pealed and bled terribly.
Glad you did this video as I was worried it was just me. I think I will try starcraft and rtvront
Htvront has printable htv?
Hi Kelley! Happy to know it's not just me 🤗
I used the Walmart one once and it was trash! I was mad as you know what! It was my daughter’s birthday present! She has ferrets and I made a cute hoodie and I was very disappointed!
Can I use this with regular printer ink?
Hello are you using a regular printer?
I've used easysubli and DTV and have never had wrinkles or peeling. Your application was bad.
Thank you for your feedback, any suggestions on how we can improve? -Brittany
@@DesignBundles I use an actual heat press so maybe it's the Cricket press perhaps not enough pressure?
What kind of printer you use?
Thank luv for the video BUT I think the Siser NEEDED MORE HEAT and MORE PRESSURE ❤️
Maybe ! I will test it!
I would have put Mod Podge on it to keep it from bleeding.
I do not get why you used white shirts. I was looking forward to the dark as when I sublimate I can only pretty much use white with it.
Thank you for your feedback, Michelle!
When you picked your design it said for sublimation , can you do that with an ink jet printer?
Or do you have to pick printer images only?
I don’t have a sublimation printer is why I’m asking
Thank you so much for all this information
It's just a full color image. Won't be any different for sublimation or full color printable vinyl.
Pretty much it is not a svg(cut file)
Hi there! The sublimation design can be printed from a regular printer as a PNG! - Dawn 🙂
Did you notice that the siser one the star to the top right did not come out, the other two the star is there.
Good catch Eleanor!
I have only used Starcraft. It has held up great through many washes.
Happy to know it worked for you!
Can you print using sublimation ink?
I tried the Avery brand and it is cracking and peeling without even washing it. Colors were great though.
Thank you for sharing your experience! - Dawn
I need a 8 in 1 heat press can’t afford over $400 what do you recommend it has to do tumblers several sizes I don’t care if it don’t do the curved tumblers ad long as it does straight tumblers please help I need to order dominoes the next 2 dsys
Hi, Crystal,
I wonder if any of the sheets can be used with sublimation ink. Can you please address this?
Thank you,
Donna
Coastal Georgia
Hi Donna! Are you looking to use the sublimation ink over the heat transfer vinyl? What project are you looking to create? - Dawn
I prefer to use easy color dtv for kids shirts. It does bleed a lot. Sticking to my sublimation.
Yes, I agree. I think for longer lasting results, sublimation is the best bet. If you are creating something for a 1 time use, I would say that dtv could work. - Dawn 🙂
Do you think maybe the Siser would do better with a full size heat press?
Hi Alanna! The full heat press is always a better option because you are getting a more even press! - Dawn 🙂
yes fail on the siser i had that happen with another brand Transourdream
Does this work on something like a dollar tree mug/mug press?
Hi there! There is printable vinyl but I wouldn't suggest it for a mug. You may want to look into waterslide decals instead! - Dawn
@@DesignBundles
Thank you for the quick reply ❤
So everytime you put on an offset, turn off bleed?
Yes, that is correct! 😊 - Brittany
@@DesignBundles thank you. Didn't know that if left on what happens?
Will it allow you to make the image bigger?
I have only used Avery and PPD which is a brand highly rated on Amazon. Preferred PPD.
That's awesome! ⭐️
Can you use heat transfer tape with this product?
Hi there! The tape can certainly hold down your design while you press 🙂- Dawn
Maybe try again using the heatpress you have in the background. 🤔
A machine will apply better even pressure.
I know! I would love to use it but it's far away from the microphone 😊 I might need to change my setup
