In this After Effects motion graphic tutorial we are going to be taking a look at how to do a hand-drawn water droplet / after effects liquid effect in After Effects. The water splash effect is, for the most part, hand-drawn, but overall this is a very simple effect that can be used in many different cases. All hail the liquid water splash effect!

“Its actually really easy” proceeds a 25 minute tutorial for 1 drop
i was thinking same thing 😆 still cool nontheless
thanks for this tutorial, very coear! And your voice is very relaxing!
Holy shit thank you man, you really saved my life with this tutorial! Tysm, keep it up!
Wow thanks for this tutorial. I always have a hard time with organic elements such as water, I never thought about Roughen Edges, that's such a great tip!
You can actually use the turbulence effect for the splash on the ground. That would save a ton of time instead of hand animating.
Turbulent effect is so digital looking though. Much less control IMO, but it is an option if time is limited
Probably one of the best tutorials I've seen so far! Loved it! Liked and subscribed ^-^
And so modest, what the hell!!! You're the best!
Amazing tutorial, thanks!!!!!!
Keep up the good work. I really enjoy these. They help spark creativity and get me working faster :)
Glad they are helpful!
thanks for giving this hint... best tut....
thank you for the tutorial!
I really like your tutorial on this water drop splash. I have a question, is it possible to duplicate each of the animations and move it around to make it look like rain?
yes if you download the v2 motion pack that this guy has (but doesn't use in tutorial) you can use something called clone that clones layers and keyframes
great tutorial man. keep up the great stuff!
amazing genious!! many thanks this is what I need!!!
i slept because of this meditative music
That looks really smooth, I tried that back then when I started at AE and it was terrible 😂
Hand animating is really challenging. The trick it to make it happen fast so nobody can see your mistakes lol
This helped me in my latest animation. Thank you!
:D Awesome to hear!
Nice tutorial again Mike!
Thank you, hope it helped!
Top demais seus tutos... estou aplicando essa técnica no projeto de um cliente.
interesting that you didn't choose to use liqfuify or any of the cc effects for this

thanks bro
Hello from Russia ! Fire lessons, thank you my friend!
We have quite a bit of Russian viewers :D
At the point of impact with the water droplet could you use it to maybe start to reveal text in a water effect (it starts to fill up with the more droplets that hit it) Would that be difficult? Great video by the way!
When you shrink the bezier handles how do you do it so that the other handle doesn´t move
Did you make the background in your intro? It's really cool and I would love to download/make it.
good lord lol might as well just hand draw each frame, amirite? rather than play with so many points and bezier handles
nice, and now show me plz how to easy and fast add schadows and lightning to the drop^^ cartoon-style ofc.^^
This is great. I have a quick question. On the pen tool, I do not have the option to change the fill color to white. I am on a black solid background, I am trying to have part of the white text I am working with have a drip effect. I can't seem to make the droplet white. Advice?
You could use a Tint or Fill effect.
3 th. Awesome. I'm from Russia, but your tutorials love!
From Russia with love!
So i just wanna say thank you and subscribe i guess :D
awesome!
Thanks man!
where you get those flat colors?
Do you mean my color pallet? I just pick bright pastel colors
what mechanical keyboard you have?
It's Razor. It kind of sucks though. Had key issues
Mike, how did you make that M split like that in the intro video?
Maurice Williams I actually learned it from the speedart of the intro he uploaded before
Thanks. I'll have a look
Wow. Way to fast.
I basically just broke it up into rectangle shape layers and animated them in 3D
Maurice Williams you can turn it a little bit slow in the settings down the video if you're using chrome
increíble

Is it just me or is that the KSP Music?
So much focus on positioning and shaping details which is not the main thing behind the title of the tutorial :/
